「Palestinian Fatah and Hamas movements vowed to "unite" against Israel's plan to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, speaking at a joint video conference, Ramallah, Thursday.
Secretary of the Central Committee of the Fatah movement Major General Jibril Rjoub, called on all the Palestinian factions, to unite their positions and participate in the national action together.
Rjoub said: “With this message, Fatah and Hamas show a consensus in which there is greatness from the two movements and leaders. I speak on behalf of the Central Committee and the leadership committee and on behalf of our head Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas) and Saleh Arouri speaks in the name of Hamas, which is an inherent part of the Palestinian people.”
He added: “I think that today we are coming out with one voice and one flag, and we are working to build a strategic vision worthy to face the challenges that have to do with the leadership of the Palestinian streets and all factions of national action, away from all sediments and secondary contradictions."
Deputy head of the political bureau of Hamas movement, Saleh al-Arouri, added: “The most important message we want to convey to our youth and our bases in Hamas and to the political leadership of the Fatah movement and the Hamas movement and to all factions is that we say that everyone should engage in joint work to confront the annexation project. We have aggression and herds of settlers on our lands, our farms, and our cities, and we must defend our people."

「Palestinian protesters staged a rally against Israel's planned annexation of territories in the West Bank, in Rafah on Friday.
Hundreds of men and boys took part in the protest, part of several demonstrations organised by the Hamas movement in the southern Gaza Strip following Friday prayers.
"Our message on this day is that these plans will not pass and will not be implemented, and that all Palestinians have made the choice of resistance, a single option to liberate our land and our people," said Mansour Brik, a local Hamas leader.
"And that these plans will only be political despair practiced by the Netanyahu government and will be paid for sooner or later," he added」

「Thousands of active citizens gathered at Tel Aviv's Rabin Square on Saturday to protest the government's plans to annex West Bank territories.
In a rare occasion, Jewish and Arabic population staged the united front against the annexation plan presented by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The demonstrators were seen chanting slogans and waving both Israeli and Palestinian flags.
The protesters fear the move would trigger a new round of hostilities and bloodshed between Israel and Palestine. Angela, one of the protesters, said, "I have almost given up on demonstrations but this one is our way of the people of saying we do not want war."
"The annexation is all about him trying to stay out of jail", she added, as several protesters believe Netanyahu's plan was an attempt to shore up support amid his trial on corruption charges.
Various police units were deployed around the protest, arresting several protesters after attempting to disperse the gathering.」

「The picture shows a view of the Ramat Givat Zeev illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank on March 19, 2020. (By Reuters)」
The Palestinian Hamas resistance movement has called on Arab countries to resort to urgent action, including a summit meeting, aimed at preempting Israel’s plan to annex huge swathes of the occupied West Bank.
Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh made the demand in separate letters to leaders of as many as 40 Arab countries on Tuesday, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
The official said the plan amounted to a move aimed at Judaization of the West Bank and the holy occupied city of Jerusalem al-Quds, which is partly located in the territory, and constituted a “real threat,” whether now or in the future, to Palestine and the entire global Arab and Muslim nation.
He called the plan a new instance of Israeli aggression that follows in the footsteps of the other atrocious measures it has taken during its “black history” against the Palestinian and other regional nations.
Haniyeh called on the Arab rulers to hold a summit at the level of the heads of state in support of the Palestinians’ uniform position against the annexation and Judaization scheme.
Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the plan to annex the areas upon which the regime has been building illegal settlements since its occupation of the territory in 1967, alongside the Jordan Valley. Over all, the areas that are subject to the scheme comprise some 30 percent of the West Bank.
Israel wheeled out the plan emboldened by a hugely-controversial plot that was detailed by US President Donald Trump on January 28, in which Washington supports Tel Aviv’s annexation of the areas.
Haniyeh urged political, economic, and media support for the national Palestinian drive that pursues restoration of the Palestinians’ legitimate rights, liberation of the occupied territories, and creation of an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.
The US plot, ironically dubbed the “deal of the century,” also re-endorsed Washington’s incendiary recognition of al-Quds as Israel’s “capital.” The recognition that came during Trump’s presidency flies in the face of Palestinians’ age-old demand that the city’s eastern part serve as the capital of their future state.
Palestinians stopped recognizing any intermediary role by the US in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict after Washington’s unveiling of the plot.
PA devises ‘counterplan’ to ‘deal of century’
Also on Tuesday, the West Bank-based Palestinian Authority’s Prime Minister Mohammed Stayyeh said Palestinians had tried fighting off the Israeli intentions by preparing a response to the US scheme.
The “counter-proposal” proposes creation of a "sovereign Palestinian state, independent and demilitarized" that defies Trump’s vision of such a state as a considerably reduced territory.
The official said copies of the counterplan have been sent to the United Nations, Russia, the European Union, and the United States as the parties that had mediated between Tel Aviv and the Palestinians in the past.
“We want Israel to feel international pressure,” Shtayyeh, meanwhile, noted.
“For the first time, the European political allies are discussing sanctions against Israel because we asked for them,” he added, referring to the European Union’s objection to the prospect of annexation.
“The anger is there, the dissatisfaction is there, the frustration is there, and all that is a recipe for more problems,” the PA premier noted in reference to the built-up Palestinian and international anger that the Israeli announcement has incurred.

「Germany’s left-wing party Die Linke is calling for sanctions on Israel if it proceeds with its planned annexation of large parts of the occupied West Bank.
In Germany there is a strictly enforced – but intellectually lazy and morally repugnant – elite consensus that unconditional support for Israel and inaction in the face of its crimes against Palestinians are necessary to atone for the murder of millions of European Jews in German government death camps.
Few prominent German politicians have the courage or moral clarity to understand that genuine and principled atonement would mean applying the same human rights standards to Israel as to any other country.
Instead, actual German policy amounts to shielding and rewarding Israel as it commits war crimes and perpetrates conquest, occupation and apartheid with impunity decade after decade.
Deviation from this consensus typically draws false smears of anti-Semitism.
In recent years, Die Linke has come in for strong criticism from Palestinians for falling in line with this consensus.
In that context, the latest modest step by Die Linke, which holds 69 seats in the country’s lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, is a significant departure.
“The planned expropriation and annexation of Palestinian land in the Jordan Valley would impose Israel’s administration, laws and jurisdiction on the Palestinian population without granting them Israeli citizenship,” the party says in a 6 June resolution approved by its executive committee.
“Should the Israeli government resolve to carry out the annexation, Die Linke will advocate for the suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement,” the party adds.
That agreement provides Israel with lavish support and privileges from the European Union, but it is supposed to be valid only if Israel respects human rights. ……」

「Standing up for humanitarian causes isn’t UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s default setting, so questions are being asked as to why he has slammed Israel and risked the wrath of the US’s super-sensitive president, Donald Trump.
On Wednesday, the PM broke with tradition in the House of Commons by nailing his colors to the mast on an issue. When Conservative MP Crispin Blunt broached the subject of the planned Israeli annexation of Palestine, Johnson shot back:
“I believe that what is purposed by Israel would amount to a breach of international law, and we strongly object to it... We believe profoundly in a two-state solution and will continue to make that case.”
This marked a turnaround from what Johnson said in February, when he expressed support for Trump’s “peace plan.” Despite the name, very few described it as that, because it leaves Palestine with 15 percent of their historic land.
It also sees Israel gain complete control of Jerusalem, while Palestine’s capital would be a suburb of the city, called East Jerusalem.
More importantly, the controversial process of 600,000 Israeli settlers living and building homes in Palestine’s West Bank would be legalized, with those areas permanently annexed.
Almost 50 UN human-rights experts have called it “a vision of a 21st-century apartheid.” ……」

「United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday that it was Israel's decision whether to annex parts of the occupied West Bank, and the US will offer its views on this to the new Israeli government in private.
"As for the annexation of the West Bank, the Israelis will ultimately make those decisions," Pompeo told reporters. "That's an Israeli decision. And we will work closely with them to share with them our views of this in [a] private setting."
Pompeo also said he was "happy" that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and centrist rival Benny Gantz signed a deal on Monday to form an emergency coalition government, saying he did not think a fourth Israeli election was in Israel's interest.」

The Zionist regime is the most evident example of state terrorism. Ever since Britain’s anti-Islamic, antihuman policies put the Zionists to rule in #Palestine, they have been acting like a cancerous tumor, furthering their goals by massacring children, women and men.#FlyTheFlag
Today, some Persian Gulf states have committed the biggest treachery against their own history and the history of the Arab world. They have betrayed #Palestine by supporting Israel. Will the nations of these states tolerate their leaders’ betrayal?
Saudi’s blatant relations with the Zionist regime is truly a dagger that has stabbed #Palestine and the Islamic nation. The Saudis have committed a major act of treachery. They are culpable, but even here the US is involved.
These Arab states around us should know that the US is not trustworthy. The US regards them as tools, tools for protecting the Zionist regime and U.S.’s imperialistic interests in the region.
The Zionist regime has no power or strength on its own. Without help, it cannot even stand on its feet. Today, two factors are upholding this regime:1. US’s unconditional, shameless support 2. Arab and Islamic govts refraining from supporting #Palestine

「Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared the end of deals with Israel and the United States on Tuesday, including security agreements, during a meeting with the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah.
"The Palestine Liberation Organization and the State of Palestine are absolved, as of today, of all the agreements and understandings with the American and Israeli governments and of all the obligations based on these understandings and agreements, including the security ones," Abbas stated.
"The Israeli occupation authority, as of today, has to shoulder all responsibilities and obligations in front of the international community as an occupying power over the territory of the occupied state of Palestine," he added.
The statement comes as a new coalition government was formed under the leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has long advocated for the West Bank to be considered Israeli land, and vowed to take actions to that end as he was sworn in.
The Palestinian President pointed out in one of his statements the "firm commitment to fighting international terrorism regardless of shape or source."
He concluded "calling on world countries that have rejected the deal of the century and American and Israeli policies and their measures that violate international legitimacy and agreements" to take "deterrent steps."」

「Facing mounting international pressure, will the Israeli government push ahead with its annexation plan with the full backing of the United States? And at what cost?
The Secretary General of the United Nations has warned that this would constitute ‘a most serious violation of international law’ and called on the Israeli government to abandon its annexation plans.
Meanwhile, more than 1000 members of European Parliaments signed a letter denouncing Israel’s plans.
Ahead of its July 1st target date, the Netanyahu government is holding talks with the Trump administration on a ‘gradual annexation’.
In retaliation, the Palestinian government is threatening to withdraw from all bilateral agreements with Israel.
