トム・ジョーンズのマネージャーであるゴードン・ミルズが育てたもう一人の歌手がエンゲルベルト・フンパーディンク
です。彼はインド生まれで本名は Arnold George Dorsey ですが、ドイツのオペラ作曲家の名前をそのまま拝借して
エンゲルベルト・フンパーディンクという芸名にしたということです。
『ラスト・ワルツ』はバリー・メイスンの作詞、レス・リードの作曲によるもので全英No.1に輝き、アメリカでも25位まで
昇っていました。
日本では1968年1月から4月にかけてのヒットでした。
