方便品第二（その１９）

また舎利弗よ
Furthermore, Shariputra
これらのすべての比丘（僧侶）
These monks
比丘尼（尼僧）
Bhikshuni (nun)
自らすでに得たと言う
Claiming to have already attained
阿羅漢（尊敬や施しを受けるに相応しい聖者：声聞階級修行者）である
これが最後の生
This is the final body
究極の涅槃（煩悩を滅尽して悟りの智慧を完成した境地）
Ultimate Nirvana
すぐに再び～を求めることはしない
Immediately cease seeking
無上正等覚、悟り
Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi (Supreme Perfect Enlightenment)
まさにこれらの者を知るべきである
You should know these people
すべて増上慢（慢心、傲慢）の人々である
All are arrogant people
なぜ～なのか
For what reason?
もし、～の比丘がいるなら
If there are monks
実際に阿羅漢を得ているという
Truly attained Arhatship
もしこの法を信じないなら
If they do not believe in this Dharma
そのようなことはあり得ない
There is no such thing
仏が滅度（この世から去る）した後～を除いて
Except after the Buddha’s passing
目の前に仏がいないこと
There is no Buddha present
なぜ～なのか
For what reason?
仏が滅度した後
Except after the Buddha’s passing
このようにして、経典を
Such sutras as these
受け取り、保持し、読み、唱え、
Receive, uphold, read, and recite
その意義を理解する者
Those who understand the meaning
このような人は得がたく少ない
Such people are rare to find
もし他の仏に出会うなら
If one encounters another Buddha
この法の中において
Within this Dharma
すぐに決定的に理解する
Immediately attain clear understanding
舎利弗よ
Shariputra
お前たちはまさに～すべきである
You all should
一心に信じて理解すること
Wholeheartedly believe and understand
仏の言葉を受け持つこと
Receive and uphold the Buddha's words
諸仏、如来たちは
The various Buddhas and Tathagatas
言葉には虚偽がない
The words are not false
他に余分な乗り物（乗の教え）はない
There is no other vehicle
ただ一つの仏乗のみ
Only the One Buddha Vehicle
その時、世尊（仏）が
At that time, the World-Honored One
この教えを再び宣言したい
Wishing to again declare this meaning
