舎利弗よ
Shariputra
十方の世界の中
Within the worlds of the ten directions
なお二乗もない
There is not even the two vehicles
まして三乗があるはずがない
How much less the three vehicles
舎利弗よ

諸仏は～に出現する
The Buddhas appear in...
五つの濁った悪世
The evil world of the five impurities
いわゆる劫（長い時間単位）濁
So-called kalpa impurity
煩悩（煩わしい悩み）による濁り
The impurity of afflictions
衆生による濁り
The impurity of living beings
見解による濁り
The impurity of views
生命による濁り
The impurity of lifespan
このように
Thus, in this way
舎利弗よ
Shariputra
劫濁が乱れる時
When the kalpa impurity is in chaos
衆生の汚れが重い
The defilements of beings are heavy
物惜しみ、貪欲、嫉妬
Stinginess, greed, jealousy
すべての不善の根を成就するため
To accomplish all unwholesome roots
諸仏は方便の力によって
The Buddhas, through the power of skillful means
一仏乗において
Within the One Buddha Vehicle
三つに分けて説く
Dividing and preaching three ways
舎利弗よ
Shariputra
もし私の弟子が
If my disciples
自らを阿羅漢だと言う
Calling themselves Arhats
辟支仏（縁覚の修行者）である者は
Those who are Pratyekabuddhas
聞くことも知らない
Neither hear nor know
諸仏、如来たちは
The various Buddhas and Tathagatas
ただ菩薩を教え導くだけである
Only teaching and guiding bodhisattvas
これは仏の弟子のことではない
This is not a disciple of the Buddha
阿羅漢のことではない
Not an Arhat
辟支仏（縁覚の修行者）のことでもない
Not a Pratyekabuddha
