においくる となりのかぜを みにしめて ありしのきばの うめぞこいしき
その翌年（1023年）私が十六歳の４月真夜中に出火して、家は焼け落ちてしまった。火事のあと、私たち一家は別の家に移り住んだ。お向かいの家には、白梅や紅梅がいくつも植わっていて、つぎの年も早春には、風にのって花の香りがこちらにまで漂ってきた。するとまた、梅の老木のあった焼け落ちた家のことが、無性に思いだ出されるのだった。にほいくる となりの風を 身にしめて ありし軒端の 梅ぞこひしき
