Edouard Manet @MET

渋谷で出会うポーラ美術館の印象派コレクション展にマネEdouard Manet(1832-1883)の《サマランカの学生たち》1860年が出展されていました。初期のスペイン風のマネを認識し、もうちょっと印象派について理解を深めるために、高階秀璽「フランス絵画史」,西岡文彦「二時間の印象派」を読みました。そして、マネの、特に初期の作品はメトロポリタン美術館に多く所蔵されていることを知りました。はじめてのサロン入選作《ギター弾き》、落選展の《闘牛士姿のV嬢》、《マホの衣装を着けた若い男》の2点などです。今回のメトロポリタン美術館では、そのマネをじっくりと鑑賞するために訪れたようなもので、ずいぶん楽しめました。
