来る4月5日（金）13時から15時、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃をします。イベントではありませんが、見物は歓迎します。ただし、天候や施設側の事情などで中止する場合もあります。
● 交通公園は公共の施設ですから、多くの人が利用できる状態にしたいと考えています
On Friday, April 5th, from 13:00 to 15:00, I will cleanup the road at Ako City Traffic Park. Although it is not an event, spectators are welcome. However, it may be canceled due to weather or facility circumstances.
● Traffic Park is a public facility. We want to make it available to as many people as possible.
我が家の花壇、春の予感を知らせるように、次から次へと、初めて咲く花たちが訪れましたが、ようやく「春の使者」が来ました。それは「アミガサユリ」でした。
In my flowerbeds, the first flowers of spring came one after another, as if to warn us of spring, but at last the 'messenger of spring' arrived. It was the ”Fritillaria verticillata”.
それまでに訪れていた紫色の花の「ヒメオドリコソウ」を見下ろすように、高く伸びた茎から白い花を咲かせています。初めてお会いする花です。最初に見た時は、「晴れると、花が上を向くのかな？」と思っていましたが、そうではありませんでした。下を向いて咲く花だったのです。
「アミガサユリ」という名前から、「網（あみ）かさ百合（ゆり）」だと最初は思ったのですが、そうではないと思い直しました。きっと、「雨傘（あまがさ）百合」と呼ばれていたのが 「アミガサユリ」に変わってしまったのでしょう。だって、白い花は、まるで少しすぼめた雨傘にそっくりだからです。
The white flowers are somehow shaped like a squashed umbrella as they bloom face downwards. This is probably why it was first named in Japanese as a lily like 'amagasa' (umbrella). Then, as it continued to be called, it must have changed only one sound and turned into 'amigasa' lilies.
裏の花壇では「キズイセン」が咲き続けてくれて、「キンモクセイ」も新しい芽を一気に伸ばし始めています。そして、まるで枯れた茎の様になっていた「アジサイ」からは、一枚また一枚と、新緑の葉が増えています。きっと、6月には紫色の花を咲かせてくれるでしょう。
In the flower bed at the back of the house, the 'kizusai' have continued to flower, and the 'kumquatsugi' have started to grow new buds at once. And the ’hydrangea’, which used to look like a withered stem, is now sprouting new green leaves one by one. I am sure that the purple flowers will bloom in June.
先日、公表していた通り、3月27日（水）に、赤穂交通公園の路面清掃をしましたので、その様子を画像と一緒に報告します。そして、今回一番の収穫は、「やっぱり、地球は重い」と感じた事でした。
As announced recently, on Wednesday 27 March, I cleaned the road surface of the Ako Traffic Park, and I report on this event with images. The most important thing for us this time was that I felt that the earth is heavy after all.
今回の清掃箇所は、上の画像の赤いラインで示した箇所で、前回よりも大きく計画をしました。でも、公園はもっと広く、路面上は荒れていますが、一番面倒そうな箇所から始めています。
This time, I planned a bigger clean-up area than last time, in the area indicated by the red line in the image above. But the park is much larger, and although it is rougher on the surface, we are starting with the areas that look the most troublesome.
今回は、前回の経験を活かして、路面へと大きく侵略している芝を、遠慮なく大胆にごっそりと ‘切り出す’ ようにして剥がす事に集中しました。
This time, I concentrated on using my previous experience to remove the turf that had largely invaded the road surface by boldly and unreservedly 'cutting' it out in chunks.
それにしても、大胆不敵な芝です。 公園が作られた時には路面上には土は無かった筈ですが、何故か、芝が侵略している所には土もたくさん溜めこんでいるのです。恐らく、20年以上は放置された結果でしょう。
Nevertheless, the turf is fearless. There should have been no soil on the road surface when the park was built, but for some reason, where the turf has invaded, it has also accumulated a lot of soil. Probably as a result of neglect for more than 20 years.
見た目は軽やかな印象の芝ですが、実はとても重いのです。前回は、取り除いた芝をコンテナボックスに入れて、廃棄場所まで運ぶのが重くて大変だったので、今回は秘密兵器、コンテナ運搬用キャリーを持参しました。 それでも、コンテナ一杯で 恐らく 30㎏ 以上になり、それを 計6回ですから、200㎏ 近く運ぶ事になりました。 例え、草であっても土と水分が一緒ですから、とても重いです。だから、地球は重いのですね。
Although the turf looks light, it is actually very heavy. Last time, we had to put the removed turf in a container box and carry it to the disposal site, which was heavy and difficult, so this time we brought our secret weapon: a container carrier. Even so, a full container probably weighed more than 30 kg, and we had to carry it a total of six times, which meant we had to carry almost 200 kg. Even grass is very heavy because it contains soil and water. That's why the earth is heavy.
今回の作業箇所は、上の画像で路面の色が濃くなっている箇所です。縁石を超えて侵略した芝の他に、路面がひび割れた所から吹き出す様に広がっていた芝を、縁石沿いに 約9ｍ の場所で除去しました。これで、作業時間は 3時間。まだまだ彼らの侵略場所は一面に広がっていますが、まだまだ続けますよ。
This work was carried out in the area where the road surface is darker in the image above. In addition to the turf that had invaded beyond the kerb, I removed turf that had spread to blow out from where the road surface had cracked, approximately 9 m along the kerb. This took three hours of work. Their invasion area is still all over the place, but we are still going on.

今春、大学に入学します。
新たな学びの機会を増やす為に、昨年から計画していたのですが、先日、無事に入学が叶った事を報告します。
I will be entering university this spring.
I have been planning to do this since last year in order to increase my opportunities for new learning, and I am happy to report that I have successfully enrolled the other day.
「1年生になったぁら ～ ♪」 という歌がありますけど、友達は100人は出来そうにありません。しかも、年齢制限があるので、若い人は居ません。
そう、授業にも関心ありますが、人生の先輩たちと知り合えるのが楽しみなのです。
There is a song in Japan that says, ``Will you make 100 friends when you become a first grader?'' However, it seems unlikely that you will make 100 friends. Moreover, there are age restrictions, so there are no young people.
Yes, I am interested in the classes, but I am looking forward to getting to know people who have lived longer than me.
