ふと
「温故知新」
という漢文に
目が留まった。
”古きを温め新しきを知る”
というごく単純な意味が
頭に浮かぶが
更に突っ込んで
考えてみると
人類の何万年もの歴史そのもの
が視野に浮かんできた。
この何万年もの人類の営みの中で
古（故）きものを温め、
つまり、
失わないように記憶・知識の中に
累積していく作業がある。
それは
古くて不必要なものの取捨選択と
新しいものの取捨選択
且つ同時に、
両者の結合、融合、醸成を伴う
気の遠くなるような
何万年もの作業の連続なのだ。
古いものを重ねていくということは
即、
それは人類が新しいものの
発明、発見、工夫、知恵、創造していく過程でもある。
その連続が
同時に化学反応し融合し、
同時進行していくことを意味する。
古いものは
新しいものを
継続し支えていくもの、
もしくは不可欠のもの・表裏一体のもの
であることを意味している。
そうでないものは
常に
意味のないものとして、
疎ましいものとして、
捨て去られていく可能性を持つ。
ある場合には
生き返るものもある。
全く意味のないものもあるが
温めておくべきものを
単に
怠惰ながゆえに、
思考の未熟さが故に、
様々な検証に耐えた
洗練された知識の不足が故に、
消えていくものもあろう。
短期的には消え、
中期的には生き返るもの、
否、
遥か
遠い未来に
生き返るものもある。
意味のない、
害しか残さない古いものが
蔓延（はびこ）れば、
優れた新しいもの、
斬新なものを
育て花咲かせることを阻むだろう。
優れた古いものの
意味ある積み重ね、記憶は
新しい傑出した発明発見、創造物を
即、
受け入れていくだろう。
余りにも
現在からかけ離れた
斬新な発明・発見・創造
の産物は
今、
否、中長期には
日の目を見ず、
遠き未来に
”日の目”を見る場合もある。
現在に
掛け橋がないだけなのだ。
「虹の架け橋」
を懸けたいものだ。
それは社会科学にも
自然科学にも
文化、芸術にも
人類の創造物すべてにいえるものだ。
かけがえのないものを
愛しいものを失わないために！
”我田引水”からは
何物も生み出さないだろう！
すべてのものに「虹の架け橋」を！
