アイズナー賞2021

今年もコロナ禍でオンライン開催となったアメリカ最大のコミックコンベンション、
サンディエゴコミックコンベンション（SDCC）。 
そしてそこで発表されるのが、アメリカのコミック業界で優れた作品やクリエイターに与えられる
アイズナー賞（Eisner Award）でございます。コミック界のアカデミー賞みたいなもんです。

今年もノミネート作発表時はつまみ食いだったので。

グリヒル作画の「スーパーマン・クラッシュ・ザ・クラン」2冠、カバーアートで桃桃子が受賞と
アメコミ界で活躍する日本人が評価されてる、という切り取り方もできそうな感じ。
（そういう目で見るなら、日系人のスタン・サカイも2冠ですね）

一方でBLM運動などの影響も感じられる受賞作もあったり、
ヒーローコミックの受賞もあるけれど全体的にはグラフィックノベル系の印象が強いかな、と思ったりと
どうしてもヒーロー物ってイメージが付きがちなアメコミというものに対する印象が広がる賞に
今年もなっているなぁ、と感じます。
（もう一つのコミック賞であるハーベイ賞だともっとグラフィックノベル/オルタナティブ色が強い印象）

今回受賞したりノミネートしている中でどれだけが日本で読めるようになるのか、は
あまり期待はできない現状ですが
（個人的な希望では「ストレンジ・アドベンチャーズ」とか「ファーセクター」とか…）
この国の海外コミックの灯が少しでも長くともり続けてくれますように、と願う次第です。
