図書館デビュー la bibliothèque

130515012cx6.jpg

I've been looking for this book for long long long time. So long as to give it up with thinking the tales should be not so fascinating. I often go to public library to read books which don't have. But I've never borrowed a book at any public library. The reason is I don't like to go to the same price twice for a book.
There is only one book in all of the public library, I know in searching. If they decide the book would have no reader, it would be released and vanish for ever. So I should request to burrow it. There is no waiting-person.

I get it. It is exciting! It's so exciting that I've ordered it through the Amazon com.

If you understand Japanese, please read this article about this happy SF by Masahiro Noda.

C/O is the one of USA and the postage is Royal Mail.
I try to see the picture of the address at the Google map.
Ummm, it looks a very beautiful town. Then I search Royal Mail.
On the top page, I find
<Football Heroes Pen Portraits>Jimmy Greaves, Joh Charled, Gordon Banks, George Best, John Barned, Kevin Keegan, Denis Law, Bobby Moore, Bryan Robson, Dave Mackay and Bobby Charlton.
Oh, what nostalgic names!
I spend for a while to remind their names from their face.....
And I fail to identify half of them! lolololol.

Eh? What do I get?
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
The Japanese translations are very expensive. I won't spend Yen 11000 and more for them.
I think these two translations shouldn't be paid so much money.

I appreciate so much for your presents, Irma.
Especially I got happy to flip the pages of the young Conan Doyle's diary in the Arctic sea. I love the flying penguins drawn by Dr. Doyle.

Hard Frost

11b08004cx2.jpg

Hard Prost by R.D.Wingfield, 1996, Corgi Books.

It's a great mystery used with thousands of adjective/adverb words, “bloody”.
A bloody detective Jack Frost is the title role. And other bloody characters. Bloody co-worker detectives, bloody constables, and bloody supervisors. Bloody victims. And at last after reading it through, you are bloody reader, too.

I start to show my memo about "bloody" at here.

"Black Lotus" by Laura Joh Rowland

2009-08-23 22:20:51 | book(本)
09610018g2.jpg

The first mystery of Sosakan-sama, Ichiro Sano under the regime of Shogun Tunayoshi.

Publishers Weekly starred review says, "Well-developed characters, absorbing plot, and rich detail."
I agree about the characters : detective couple, Ichiro and Reiko Sano and dark pretty heroine Haru and a heal monk Anraku. I agree about the absorbing plot.
But I disagree about the rich detail. The detail of this mystery is poor and ridiculous. For example, this is the biggest and irreparable mistake; Mrs. Rowland doesn't know there was no open trial in the Edo era.

The Shogun Tsunayoshi was the rare shogun of dictatorship. He made a fresh post, in fiction, "Sosakan-sam" who should be ordered only by Shogun and had a police authority over the nation but Shogun. In real the police authority of Edo government was divided into four department. The first one is a big-police for the lord families(大名)。The second is a small-police for the soldiers(=bureaucracy ) of Tokugawa government. The third is a religious-police. And fourth is a citizen-police for common citizen. In this fiction, there is a same system of police. And a sosakan-sama could transcend these four polices. Therefore all of the chiefs of four polices dislike Sosakan-sam Sano.

One night one of the police chi eves, who is the biggest rival of Sano, was found dead in the arson fire in the Black Lotus Temple. They find another two bodies, burned body of a woman and a young child. The suspect was easily found. Haru was found unconscious beside the fire site.

The Shogun Tsunayoshi ordered Sano to investigate the case. Sano thinks Haru is a native liar and a bad habit of arson. But his wife Reiko believe Haru's words to doubt the brotherhood of Black Lotus and the leader of Black Lotus, Anraku.

With the story progressing, the couple turned into deeper conflict almost to divorce. Their word battle is boredom.

At last Sano admitted the preparation of religious terrorism of the brotherhood. Sano and two hundred soldiers run into the temple where the thousands of armed believers were waiting....

The battle scene is very poor and has poor reality but exciting like as comic book.

I can't have a brave to recommend this mystery to Japanese.

This comic book was published about half a century ago. At first I read it in a The Boy's Life, a kid's magazine when I was in a hospital owing to the appendicitis.

In this coffee shop there are lots of very old comic books.
