私は、路面清掃をします / I will Cleanup the Road

来る 5月 17日（金）13時から15時、赤穂市の交通公園の路面清掃をします。
イベントではありませんが、見物は歓迎します。ただし、天候や施設側の事情などで予告なく中止する場合もあります。

交通公園は公共の施設です。多くの人が安全に気持ち良く利用できる状態にしたいと考えています。
  

On the coming Friday, May 17, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., I will be cleaning the streets of Traffic Park in Ako. Spectators are welcome. However, the event may be canceled without notice due to weather or other circumstances at the facility.

The traffic park is a public facility. We want to keep it in a safe and pleasant condition for many people to use.

裏山は “コンサートホール” / The back mountain is a “Concert hall”

 

玄関から歩いて 3分で登山口の裏山は、
既に、5月の緑色にあふれていました。

Within a 3-minute walk from the entrance, the mountain behind the trailhead was already filled with the green color of May.

静かな里ですが、登るにつれて人の気配は消え、
木々の囁（ささや）き声が聴こえそうでした。

It was a quiet village, but as I climbed higher, the signs of people disappeared and I could almost hear the whispers of the trees.

山頂に立てば、遠く瀬戸内の島々からの風が、
汗ばんだ身体を包んでくれました。

When you stand on the mountaintop, the wind from the islands of the Seto Inland Sea will envelope your sweaty body.

そんな時、急に、目の前がコンサートホールになりました。
5～6ｍ 前にある木から、ウグイス の歌声が響いてきたのです。
力強く、澄んだ声で、僕一人の為に歌ってくれているのです。
スピーカーでは再現できない生命感が、僕を完全に包み込んでくれました。

Suddenly, a concert hall appeared in front of me. The song of a warbler echoed from a tree 5-6 meters in front of me. With a strong, clear voice, she sings just for me. The sense of life that cannot be reproduced with speakers stole away my heart.

里では、ツバメやスズメたちの恋の歌声の季節ですが、
山頂では、あちこちで、ウグイスやホトトギスたちが歌っています。
こんな自然に囲まれて暮らしている僕は、幸せ者です。
下りても、その事は、決して忘れません。

In the village, it's the season when swallows and sparrows are singing their love songs, but on the mountaintops, warblers and Japanese warblers are singing all over the place.
I'm a lucky person to be living surrounded by nature like this. Even if I go down, I'll never forget that.

 

待っているのは、いつも彼の方 / He's always waiting

新居を作り始めた、コシアカツバメたち。
朝早く来て、待っているのは、いつも彼の方。
さえずっているのは、彼女に対してではなく、
近所のスズメたちに対してのようです
スズメたちは、彼らの巣を奪うからです。

The Red-rumped swallows have started building a new home in my house.
He always comes early in the morning and is waiting for her, and he seems to be chirping, not to her, but to the sparrows in their neighborhood. The sparrows steal their nests.



実際、隣の家に巣を作ったコシアカツバメたちは、
巣に侵略を試みるスズメたちと、朝早くから争っています。
二人一緒に、連携して追い払っています。
僕の家の方では、激しい争奪戦はありません。
きっと、彼の頑張りのお蔭でしょう。

Other Red-rumped swallows that have built a nest in the house next door are fighting with sparrows that try to invade their nest early in the morning. The two of them work together to drive them away.
I'm sure it's thanks to his hard work that there's no fierce competition in my household.

しかし、気になるのは二人の距離感です。
隣の家の二人が休む時は、いつも 30㎝ほどなのに、
僕の家の二人は 90㎝ほど。 
新居の外観が整った今は、内装工事中、彼女の担当。
彼の頑張りに、変にやきもきしています。

However, what concerns me is the distance between the two.
The distance between my neighbor's Red-rumped swallows when they are always resting is about 30 cm, but the two in my house are about 90 cm apart.
Now that the exterior of the new house is in place, she is in charge of the interior construction.

春が過ぎ、愛おしき小さき花たち / Spring has passed, lovely little flowers

僕の花壇では、春が通り過ぎてしまいました。
花のシーズンを過ぎ、大きく伸びた草たちを横目に、
主役となった小さき花たちが咲いています。

Spring has passed in my flower bed.
Small flowers are taking center stage alongside the grass that has grown in spring.

次から次へと主役たちが代わる中、
今がチャンスとばかりに咲いています。

In the flower bed where the main characters are changing one after another, the flowers are blooming as if now is their chance.

春に伸びきった草たちの躯を掻き分けて、
限られたスペースで輝いています。

It shines in a limited space, pushing through the grass that has fully grown in spring.

そんな彼らの姿を見ていると、
崩れ落ちていく春の草たちの躯に手が出せません。

When I look at them like that, I can't help but touch the crumbling bodies of the spring grass.

 

そんな花壇を見る近所の人達は、
きっと、雑草満載の花壇と思うでしょう。
でも、仕方ありません。
僕は、そんなけなげな花たちが愛おしいのです。

Neighbors who see such a flower bed will surely think that it is full of weeds.
