From Florence Nightingale emphasis on nursing education and big data to today’s doctorally prepared nurses, nurses have published a lot of groundbreaking healthcare research.

We are not doctors’ assistants.
We are an integral part of the health care team.

Advocating for health care policy.
We are literally everywhere (hospitals, schools, business, private home, sports events).
Health care apps, telehealth, artificial intelligence...We are paving road for new technological advances, we are launching.
Nurses will be included on future space travel to provide telehealth across the galaxy.
But wherever we are always grounded.
With patient healthcare at our core from the first breath, to the last.
We are your protection (heart failure, obesity, addiction, HIV).
We care those in the most vulnerable positions.
And challenge those in the most powerful ones to effect change on systemic healthcare issues.
We are not what you thought we are.
We are so much more.
We ask questions.
We innovate.
We research.
We educate.
We advocate.
We solve problems.
We are experts.

日本の皆さん、これが世界の看護師とは、のメッセージです。自分の身近な範囲だけで看護に見切りをつけたり、落ちこんだり、塞いだりせず、日本の外では国民に信頼され、チームの一員として認められ、政治や開発にも関わる職業なんだと誇りを持ってください。何度も何度も書きますが、微力に思える自分でも集まれば大きな力になります。上を向いていきましょう！
