６５人の子供たちの絵が全部仕上がって、周りと天井部分を描いてようやく完成！

65 kids finished their art work and I painted the ceiling and the frame.


オークランド中の学校のペンキ塗りをしている、この道３０年のカルロス。
仕上げ塗料を塗ってくれている。

Carlos, a painter from OUSD working for the public schools in Oakland, is helping us to put on a finishing coat.
He's been a painter for 30 years!

The kids have a natural sense for great art.






このまんまのびのびと育ってね、と思う。

I hope they keep being creative.

壁画続行中！ School Mural

学校壁画続行中！
今度は３日間かけて、５年生全員お絵描き練習〜〜〜〜。
筆を使って壁に絵を描くのは、子供たちにとってなかなか難しいのです。
でも、みんな大喜び！

I've been working hard on the school mural!
After I finished painting the sun, I had all the 5th graders practice drawing for 3 days.
It's not easy for the kids to paint the wall using brushes.
But they are so excited!





練習なので何でもアリ！
ぐしゃぐしゃ、わしわしっ。
絵を描くの楽しいよね

You can do anything for practice!
They are going wild!
It's so fun





いよいよ本番！

Time to paint the real wall!




好きな動物を描いていくよ。

They picked a favorite animal to paint.




壁に向かう前にダンボールで練習します。

They are still practicing on the cardboard.








どんな動物が出て来るかな〜。

I can't wait to see unique creatures!





ためらいなくさくさく描く子と、じっくり少しずつ描く子といろいろ。

Some kids don't hesitate to paint whatever, while some kids take a lot of time to draw one stroke.




ふざけて走り回る子や、おしゃべりが止まらない子や、子供とのプロジェクトは大変〜〜
子供たちの描いたひとつひとつの絵を修正しながら進めていくので、時間もかかる！
立ちっぱなしで、毎日足がガクガクに。

Some kids are just having fun chasing each other, some kids just can't stop talking....
It's a hard job to work with kids
I also take an enormous amount of the time retouching their work.
My legs go numb everyday.


でも、素敵に楽しい作品を見てほしくてがんばるのだ〜〜。

I am working hard because I want to make a beautiful and fun art with kids!

学校壁画 #2 School Mural Project #2

少しずつ、塗っていきます。

The mural project is going on.
We are painting little by little.


マスキングテープを貼って、色を塗って翌日に乾いたらまた他の場所を塗って、、、、根気のいる作業でありマス!

I mask the edges, have kids paint, let the paint dry till the next day, mask different areas and have kids to paint again.
It's a painstaking work!





子供達はみんな一生懸命やってくれる！

All the kids are enjoying painting!





でも、はみ出したり、液だれしたりで、修正がたいへーん

But there are lots of messy parts that I have to fix





これだけで入口ホールが明るくなった！
まだ終わりじゃないよー。

The entrance area is already brighter!
We are not done yet!

学校壁画 School Mural

小学校で今年度最後のアートプロジェクト！　
講堂の入り口を塗りますよ〜。
この古ぼったさがずっと気になっていたのよ。

The last art project of the school year at my sons' former elementary school!
We are painting the entrance of the auditorium.
I always wanted to do something with this old looking entrance.



働き者のアシスタント（夫）と一緒に下塗り。
Painting the base color with my hardworking assistant! (my husband )








太陽を描きます。
光線をまっすぐにひくのが結構難しくひとりで苦戦

I want to draw the Sun but making straight lines for the sun beams is hard!









５年生の子供たち。
４年生だった一年前、５年生たちが階段のペンキ塗りをするのを、とてもうらやましく見ていた。
「なんで５年生だけなの〜！？　私たちもやりた〜い！」って。

今年はキミたちの番だよ
Those are the 5th graders who were watching the stair case painting last year when they were 4th graders.
They said;
" Why is it only for the 5th graders!? We want to do it!!"

Here they are!

The son of the owner of this office.





反対側の壁とつながるように描きました。
壁全部を絵で埋めたい誘惑に駆られましたが、そうなると仕事やりづらいよねぇ

奥にファックス機やデスクが見えます。
このお店は、なんと不動産屋さんなのです～
