友人に頼まれて家族４人分の食器セットを制作。
渡してから１ヶ月以上もテーブルの上に広げ、毎日眺めていてくれたんだそうな。
「写メで友達にも自慢してるよぉ」と。
昨日ようやく食器棚に収まったらしい。
そんなふうに喜んでもらえるなんて嬉しくて、とても幸せ。

‘I've sent e-mails with pictures of the plates and have boasted to my friends!’
She said.
She finally put them into her dish cabinet yesterday.

学校から戻った長男がすまなそうに言う。
確かに、持ち帰った算数のテストは100点満点中の10点だった。
「いーよ、いーよ、何点でも」と私。
１年生も、この時期になるともうけっこう難しいことをやっているらしい。
全部で12問くらいある。
その中のひとつ： 『8-3+4=9の しきに なる もんだいを つくりましょう』
息子の回答： 『わしが8わいました わしが３きました なんびき』（←尻切れ）
きっと一生懸命考えたんだね。
でも途中でギブアップ。
『鷲が8羽いました。3羽飛んで行きました。そこへ4羽がまたやって来ました。鷲は何羽になったでしょう』
、、、、って、多分そんなようなが模範回答。
我が息子にはかなりハードルが高いような、、、
彼はようやくひらがなを覚えたばかり。
１文字読むのに2秒はかかる。
書くとなったらそれの3倍は必要。
それでもマイペースに、文字の読み書きという新しい世界に挑戦している。
毎日出される宿題のプリント。
いつもランドセルの奥底でくしゃくしゃになっていた。
最近は帰宅すると自分から宿題に取り組むようになったので、「お、えらいね！」と声をかける。
でもホントは、そんなに毎日宿題なんて出さなくってもいいのになーと思っている母である。
勉強は学校だけで充分。
後はひたすら遊べよ、子供たち！
と、小学生時代、田舎で野猿のように遊び暮らした私は思ってしまうんだけど、、、。

My oldest son told me little sadly when he came back home from school.
His grade on the math test was 10/100.
I said,
‘Don't worry. It's not a big deal.’
They are studying pretty difficult things lately.
There were about 12 questions on the test.
Here's one of them;
“Make a question that can lead a formula ［8-3+4=9］”
And this was my son's answer:
“There are 8 eagles. 3 eagles came. How many...”(The sentence is not complete.)
He must have thought it was very hard; he couldn't finish it.
Maybe they want children to answer like this;
“There are 8 eagles. 3 of them flew away. Another 4 eagles came. How many eagles are there now? ”
I think it's too hard for my son...
He just learned HIRAGANA recently.
It takes 2 seconds to read just one word.
It takes 3 times more to write.
But he is making his way in the new world of reading and writing at his own pace.
His teacher gives kids homework everyday.
Those papers used to be crumpled up at the bottom of his school bag.
But lately, he does his homework right after he gets home from school.
‘Very good!’
I tell him.
But honestly, I think kids shouldn't have to do homework everyday.
It is enough to study at school.
Then kids should go out and play!!
I was a wild country kid who ran around all day long.
