4. ノロウィルスは非常に感染力が強い。
⇒ 普通『感染する』という時に使われる英語は、contagious （コンテイジャス） である。
手元の英英辞典（Oxford)を引くと、a contagious disease spreads by people touching each other. とある。disease が病気。spread が広がるという意味。接触（touch)により広がるということ。（飛沫、空気感染の場合も contagious は使われている）
例文として Scarlet fever is highly contagious. （しょう紅熱は非常に感染力が強い）とある。
米国の政府機関であるCDC（疾病予防センター）のホームページにも以下のような記述がある。

Norovirus is highly contagious.
It spreads through
・close person to person contact,
・contaminated food or water,
・contaminated surfaces, objects, or substances.
It can also spread through aerosolized vomit that lands on surfaces or enters a person’s mouth then he or she swallows it.
ノロウィルスの感染経路に関して
ノロウィルスは非常に感染力が強い。感染経路として挙げられるのは、
・接触による感染
・汚染された水や食べ物による感染
・ウィルスが付着した物などを触ることによる感染、である。
嘔吐物からの空気感染もある。（aerosolized は"aero"＝air ＝『空気』の意味。vomit が嘔吐物）
とのこと。
先の辞書(Oxford)の定義では『接触』とあるが、実際にはその他（空気感染）もある。
ここで少し contagious の由来を見ておこう。
conが『共に』の意味。
tagious が touch （触れる）の意味(ラテン語由来）である。形も似ている。
共に、互いに触る＝感染する、となった。
contact （接触する、コンタクト、連絡する）の tact も同じく touch の意味である。
intact （無傷の、完全な、健全な）のtact も同じ語源。in が否定の意味。touch されていないから『無傷、完全』の意味となる。
tangible evidence （物証）等の tangible もtouch が語源。（tangible＝触れる、実在する、明白な）。
contagious、うつるのは菌やウィルスだけではない。あくびも『うつる』
・Yawning is contagious.
他にもある。
・Her enthusiasm is contagious. enthusiasm は熱意。これもうつる。『人生意気に感ず』といったところか。
他のcontagious を調べてみる。
・Laughter is contagious. 笑いが『伝染』する。
・Hatred is contagious. 憎しみの連鎖、といったところ。
・Sadness is contagious. 『悲しみ』が～
・Depression is contagious. 『うつ』が～
・Happiness is contagious. 『幸せ』が～
等がある。これらも周りに影響を与え『うつる』ものである。興味深い。もっと色々ありそうだ。
さて考える英作である。『感染力が強い』を簡単な英語にしてみる。
考えると、『感染力が強い』とは、まずウィルス自体が『強い』ので powerful が使える。他にもstrong （強い）、bad（悪い）、dangerous （危ない）も使えるだろう。『うつる』ということは、そのウィルスや病原菌を『持つ』に至ることなので have が使える。また『感染力が強い』ということは、スピーディーにウィルスが移動することである。速さ（早さ）を表すために、例えば tomorrow （明日）を使い、
・Norovirus is very powerful. You may have the virus tomorrow. （tonight の方が怖いか）
everyone (みんな）を使って、
・Norovirus is very bad. Everyone will get the virus soon. なども。
『うつる』→発病する→発熱する（have a fever)と考えて、

『感染力が強い』ということは、ウィルスを簡単に（easily) ゲットすること。

have + everywhere ＝『どこにでもある』を使うと、
・Norovirus is powerful. We'll have Norovirus patients everywhere. （patient=患者 →どこもノロ患者だらけになる）
・Hospitals will be full of people with the Norovirus. 病院はノロウィルス感染者で一杯になる）
