これまでパッシブアッテネーター使用のノウハウをお伝えしてきました。
今回はパッシブアッテネーターの自作に向けた考察です。
パッシブアッテネーターには２つの方式があります。
ひとつは可変抵抗器（ボリューム）方式。
もうひとつはスイッチによる減衰回路です。
ムジカではスイッチによる減衰回路を使用しています。
ボリューム方式では
摺動子（しゅうどうし）と呼ばれる部品が
抵抗体の上を滑って抵抗値を決めています。
この摺動子は１ｍｍ程のとても小さな部品です。
また、抵抗体にはカーボンが塗布されています。
分かりやすく表現すると
ボリュームを回転させる度に
鉛筆の芯を画鋲の先でひっかいているような状態です。
もちろんボリュームメーカーは耐久性を考慮した設計をしています。
しかし、何千回も回した古いボリュームはバリバリいうように
摺動子はボリュームのウィークポイントなのです。

There are two systems in passive attenuator.
(1) Variable resister (volume) system.
(2) The attenuation circuit by a switch.
The attenuation circuit by a switch is used in MUSICA.
In volume,
the portion called a slide slid on the resistor top, and has determined the value.
A slide is an about 1-mm very small part.
Moreover, carbon powder is applied to the resistor.

Of course, the volume maker is doing the design in consideration of durability.
However, there is the "Bali Bali" sound in the old volume used thousands of times.
A slide is a weak point of volume.
