単語１）weird（ウィアド）
I have just come back from Tokyo and had no time to write a usual stuff. I thought I was going to skip today, but, I hate to do it as it is part of my routine, so, I decided to write a very short blog about some English word I always find interesting and good for the readers to know.
The first word I will take up is “weird”.
この言葉を辞書で念のため調べたところ、名詞で「運命、定め」、ギリシャ、ローマ神話に出てくる、運命の３女神の一人の名前、Weirdとのこと。これは知りませんでした（すみません、リサーチ不足で…）。日常会話でよく使われるweird（ウィアド）は、「ちょっと変」という感じです。この言葉は何か超自然的なものを見たり感じたりした時の「変」にも使えますし、人が「なんか変…」でもいいし、体調がどうも「変」でもいいです。僕もよく使います。以下にいくつか例を挙げますね。
I feel weird today. I may have caught a cold.
（今日は体調がなんか変だな。風邪でもひいたかも知れない。）
He is acting pretty weird today. Do you know why?
（あいつなんか今日変ちゃう。なんでか知ってる？）
This place is kind of weird.
（この場所は、なんか奇妙な感じがするな。）
