『願いを込めて』
今日はクリスマス・イブ。私のクリスマスの思い出は、松本にいた小学校に入る頃までです。
父が自宅内に事務所を置いていたので、クリスマス会は両親と年子の弟3人と事務所のお姉さんたちと一緒で賑(にぎ)やかでした。
大きな本当の「もみの木」を父が選んで飾り付けをして、チキンの丸焼きにクリスマスケーキが当時の定番。そしてクリスマス・プレゼント！母が、頃合いを見計らって「あれ！今何か大きな音がしたよ！お風呂場かな？」と言うと、きょうだい4人がダッーとお風呂場に走っていく。
そこでサンタさんが届けてくれたプレゼントを発見。一番覚えているプレゼントは毛糸の三つ編みが付いていた青い帽子。それがとても欲しく、「サンタさん、さすが！」と嬉うれしかったです。
自分が親になってから、子どもにサンタさんのプレゼントをどのように渡すか、真剣に工夫しました。
わが家では24日の晩、「サンタさんは世界中をトナカイさんのソリに乗って回るから大変だよね。そうだ、お手紙を書いて手作りのクッキーをお礼に置いておこう！」となり、10歳くらいまでサンタさんを信じていました。
コロナ禍で年末年始の海外旅行は夢のまた夢となり、数年前にハワイでクリスマスを過ごした日々が懐かしく恋しいです。
新しく大流行の兆しの「オミクロン株」で欧米は大変な様子ですが、日本は、今は何とか収まっている様子。
日頃、当たり前にあるもの、澄んだ空気、美味(おい)しく安全な水、食材等々が残念ながら地球の環境破壊により、日々悪化しています。そんな状況ですが、今日は、日常生活がつつがなく過ごせ、新しい年を迎えられる幸せに感謝、感謝！
メリー・クリスマス！世界中のお家(うち)にサンタさんが幸せを運んでくれますように！
Tonight is Christmas Eve. My memory of Christmas is of the days in Matsumoto until around the time I entered primary school.
My father had his office at home, so the Christmas party was really lively with my parents, my three brothers, and the staff members all together.
We decorated a real fir tree that my father brought home, and our classic was to have a whole roasted chicken.
And then the Christmas present! My mother, looking for the best timing, always said, "Oh! I think I heard something, maybe it's from the bathroom!", and us four siblings all ran to the bathroom in anticipation.
There we found the presents from Santa. I especially remember a blue knitted hat with braids on the side. I really wanted that one, and thought "Santa is awesome!"
After I became a parent myself, I was very serious about thinking of ways to give presents.
"Santa has a hard job, riding around the world on the reindeer sleigh. Let's write a letter and leave him handmade cookies to say thank you!"
This became a tradition and Santa was real until reaching around 10years old.
With the covid, traveling in winter holidays became a dream of the dreams, and I miss the Christmas few years ago in Hawaii.
Although things are still calm in Japan, the new variant "Omicron" is spreading around the world and causing difficult situation.
Clear air, safe water, food.. all of these are more in danger with the destruction of nature.
But in these days, I am so grateful that each day goes by without trouble and that we can enter a new year!
