“I’m on a rainy day”, I said to try and introduce our new topic.
We took some umbrellas out into the courtyard to try and pretend that we were in a rainy day in the rainy season.
The teacher used a hose to make rain.
‘Arrgggh’
‘Waaaa’
‘It’s wet, it’s wet”
I heard the voices say not sure if they were happy or sad!
No, they enjoyed it; I thought they would.
Surely this will help us think about a rainy day when we are making our pictures.
Back in the art room we practiced smearing paints.
Are we playing? It did seem like we were.
We were testing different colours to find ones which would be good for a rainy day.
This is just a practice so when you are finished I’ll throw this away,
“What a waste! I want to take this home teacher!”
Someone said.
I want to take it too”, “Me too”, voices went up one after another.
After this most people took their sheet home.
For me I like to look at the beauty of the way the colours ‘bleed’ together.
