この妙光法師は
This is the Dharma Master Myoho
仏法の宝庫を奉持する
Upholding the treasure of the Buddha's teachings
八十小劫の間に
During eighty small kalpas
法華経を広く宣べる
Expounding the Lotus Sutra widely
これらの八人の王子は
These eight princes
妙光によって教え導かれる
Enlightened by Myoho
無上の悟りに堅固である
Firm in the unsurpassed path
まさに計り知れない数の仏を見る
Will see innumerable Buddhas
諸仏に供養したあと
After offering to all Buddhas
大道を従順に行う
Following and practicing the great path
次々と仏果を得る
Attaining Buddhahood one after another
順番に予言を授ける
Conferring predictions in turn
最後に天中天となる
Finally becoming the Supreme of all gods
燃燈仏と名付けられる
Named as Dipankara Buddha
仙人たちの指導者である
The guide of many sages
計り知れない多くの人々を救済する
Liberating countless beings
この妙光法師は
This is the Dharma Master Myoho
そのとき一人の弟子がいた
At that time, there was one disciple
常に怠惰を抱いている
Always harbored idleness
名誉と利益に執着する
Attached to fame and gain
名誉と利益を求め飽きない
Insatiably seeking fame and gain
多くの家柄の家を遊び歩く
Roaming around prestigious families
学んだことを捨て去る
Abandoning what was learned and recited
忘れて通じない
Neglecting and failing to understand
この因縁によって
Because of this cause and condition
その名を求名とする
Named as "Seeker of Fame"
