"That's right," Mendia and Eje replied.
Yuya took out an oil lighter from his jeans pocket.
"Kachijupo" flames.
The air is heavy.
A break in the rock indicates that it is the beginning.

三人は、そそり立つ岩壁の前に立った。
その壁は、地底から呼び出されたかのように土に生えていた。
先はとがり、それが、一面の土地からむき出し、周りを囲んでいる。
正面に岩と岩との切れ目が有る。
暗く先は見えない。
その暗黒は人を受け入れないと言うよりも、
全てを闇に飲み込むように３人を包んでくる。
裕也は、それを拒否できない。
「入りますか？」二人に尋ねた。
「そうですね。」メンディアとエジェは答えた。
裕也はジーンズのポケットからオイルライターを取り出した。
「カチ ジュポ」炎がともる。
空気が重い。
岩の切れ目は、そこが始まりであることを示す。
（終わりじゃない。始まりなんだ。）
（たぶん、ここから闇と光の歴史が始まったのね。）
足の下は砂ではなく固い。
風の音がする。
出口。
「ヒュー」
ライターが消える。
彼らは、目が慣れてくる。
３人は岩の切れ目を出ていた。
「何なのここは？」エジェは驚いた。

３人は、いろいろな思いが交錯した。
ここは、闇の門（ミディアム）。
神に閉ざされた死と生をつなぐ門。

その場所は、余りにも整然と整っていた。
