諏訪大社上社の覚書、その①

上社の境内には相撲の土俵があります。

え？　土俵？
タケミナカタの命は、相撲で負けたんじゃなかったっけ？


Note 1 about the Kamisya Upper Grand Shrines of Suwa-Taisya

There is a Sumo-Ring called Do-hyou in the precincts,
though the Records of Ancient Matters Kosiki tell us that
the God of the Kamisya had lost in the Sumo-wrestling.

上社本宮の手水には、温泉もありました。
さすが温泉地ですね。

土産物屋の並ぶ上社の北参道を下ると、諏訪市博物館があります。
そこでは御神渡りの轟音を体験することもできるそうですが、
私のおすすめは無料の足湯。
お参りで歩き疲れた足がポカポカ温まりますよ。

You can cleanse your hands
with not only pure water
but also hot pure spring water.
Suwa is a famous hot spring area.

A short walk through the Kita-sando North approach
where souvenir shops are located,
brings you to the Museum of Suwa-city.
They say
the thunderous roar of Omiwatari cracks of the ice on Lake Suwa echos there.
Also I recommennd the foot-bath.
You can heal your tired legs without charge.

４つ目の写真は入口御門の写真です。
見よ！この彫刻を！

神紋は梶の葉。
神聖な樹木の一つですね。

The 4th picture of the Kamisya Upper Grand Shrines of Suwa-Taisya is of
the entrance gate Iriguchi-Gomon.
Look how magnificent these sculptures are!

The shrine emblem is the Kaji's leaf.
The Kaji is one of the holy trees.

第３弾は布橋
前宮と本宮を繋いでいるように思えます。

昔は大祝のみが通行できたとか。
ホウリってHolyと響きが似てませんか？


The 3rd picture is of
the Nuno-bashi bridge,
seems to join the fore shrine Mae-miya
to the main shirine Hon-miya.

They say,
only the O-Hohri clergy man can pass in the ancient periods.
And Hohri sounds like holy to me.

これは前宮側の入口です。

北参道の鳥居って、昔はなかったような気がするんですよね。
気のせい？

The second picture of the Kamisya Upper Grand Shrines of Suwa-Taisya is
the gate of the main shrine Hon-miya
facing to the fore shrine Mae-miya.

There was not the gate Torii on the North approach
when I was a child, was there?
