At the end of the seventeenth century, around Yotsuya a beautiful girl lived.
Her name was Oiwa. She got married with a very handsom samurai boy.
But this husband was a woman chaser. After the marriage he would not stop his bad habit for woman so that Oiwa got annoyed to escape herself into mad.
One day she left their home and went to the distinattion unknown.
After then eerie things happened. Her husband got mad to death in these eerinesses. Though the bad husband died, the eerie thigs kept appearing.
So her family made her one of the Kannon goddess for soothing her sprit.
Thus many tradditions and horror fictions have been made.
In the horror tales, she has been discribed a woman who has swelled eye because of her husband violence. This swelled eye image made this kannnon a goddess for eye diseases. So people who annoyed with their eyes comes here to throw water onto the Oiwa Kannnon to pray their being cured.
