方便品第二（その２）

舎利弗（釈迦の十大弟子の一人で智慧第一）よ、
Shariputra (a chief disciple of Buddha),
私が仏となって以来
Since I became a Buddha
種々の原因と縁
Various causes and conditions
種々のたとえ
Various metaphors and similes
広く言葉で教えを説く
Extensively expound teachings
数えきれないほどの方便（巧みな方法）
Innumerable skillful means
衆生を導く
Lead and guide sentient beings
諸々の執着から離れさせる
Enable separation from attachments
その理由は何であるか
What is the reason?
如来の方便（仏の巧みな教えの手段）
The skillful means of the Tathāgata
知見と波羅蜜
Insight and the perfection (Pāramitā)
すべてすでに備わっている
All are already fully equipped
舎利弗よ、
Shariputra,
如来の知恵と見識
The knowledge and insight of the Tathāgata
広く大きく深く遠い
Vast and profound
計り知れず妨げのない
Infinite and unobstructed
力（仏の悟りの力）
Power
恐れることがない
Fearlessness
瞑想による心の集中
Meditation and concentration
束縛から解き放たれること
Liberation
瞑想や集中の境地
Samadhi (meditative absorption)
深く入り限りがない
Deeply entering with no boundaries
一切を成し遂げる
Achieving everything
かつてなかった仏法
Unprecedented Dharma
舎利弗よ、
Shariputra ,
如来はさまざまなことを分別できる
The Tathāgata can distinguish in various ways
巧みに諸々の仏法を説く
Skillfully expounds the various Dharmas
言葉が柔らかい
Gentle and soft in speech
多くの人々の心を喜ばせる
Delight and bring joy to many hearts
