Conchita, I did not upload anything yesterday.
Just take a look at the first photo. Late afternoon of
yesterday, I locked myself out of my room, very
inadvertantly. I should have know better...
Knowing the mechanism and structure of these doors
I had to destroy the area around the locking. It took me
some time to do this. However, it did give me an insight
into these light doors, something I did know, but never
had seen in reality. It was good...
What do I do with the smashed area? Simple, I will be
applying two thin plane sheets of Aghatis. They should not look
too odd placed over the smashed area.
Another alternative would be to replace the whole of the door.
I would not do that for two reasons. First, cost, secondly,
I will be dammned if I could not do some patch work
of this simple kind!
Coating and re-coating was carried out. Coating are
the first two, but the third down below, propellers
did go through re-coating process.
There are failed coatings, as you can imagine. Always, the
reasons are twofold. Too much polyurethane deposited
at some places.
Removing these humps almost always leeve incurable scurs
and need sanding and re-coating. Second reason is something
I have not understood. White powders get left over in the
wood surface, along tiny grooves, not entirely coated over.
I might talk about this issue later on.
Chinese spoons are gradually taking shape, as you see
in the two photos below. I have gone somewhat beyond
what these photos suggest.
Life is something, at times, inexplicable. Here I am,
and I am not exactly sure what is what. For posterity,
yes, for training purposes, yes, and Machupichu and
all that yes, but what? God help me!
