Conchita, I am pressed for time. Nevertheless, I think
I have done a lot today.
Mat coating was done, most of complicated and heavy
things are already stored in my car. Tommorrow, I am set to
depart for the mountain cottage for further construction
work. I still need to pack a few important things, but
I think I can leave here by 10:00. I even managed to
fabricate some more of the pieces I can take to the cottage.
The next two lots, I will be taking with me for further
work on rainy days.
These two saucers and chopstics will have to be inspected
tommorrow morning. I will deliver them o my way to the
cottage.
Here, below you see two of my habanero plants.
Tommorrow morning I will pluck them and take some with me.
There may still be a few things I forget to pack and take
with me. That is inevitable, and I will simply buy them
off the shelves at the DIY shop I frequent to.
The rest of this evening will be devoted to ensuring
that I can send my much smaller contributions from my
mobile. Hope it will work...

Take care!

Conchita, these are the Chinese spoons before going mat.
I am not exactly sure if I can really depart for our mountain
cottage tommorrow. There are still so many things I
need to do.
K's girl called and she brought an extra income of
about JPY 10,000. That is my return from two days
of her selling campaign. I consider it not too bad.
I also settled my account with W's. At W's she is also
doing fine. There, I also helped her re-arrange her shelves.
She wanted to pay me for that, but I refused...
Here below, you are looking at those pieces pencil marked
for further processing.
You can now clearly see those reference lines. These cutting lines
were made by my small table saw. Naturally, you need to do all this
very systematically. Reference lines are there to help with
consistancy of cutting. Cutting with the table saw is the easiest
and with what remains to be cut I go jigsaw.
Jigsaw cuttings done and all that remains to be done is to
sand them into their eventual shape. These are all
Hiyamugi noodel servers and K's girl is suggesting that
we should put a price tag of JPY 1200, at the least. Well,
I am not an expert on pricing. I am a humble cutlery
artist...
They call the tune and I will sing to it...
Very realistically speaking I do not think I will have time
tommorrow for making more of these. I have mat coating work to do,
and above all I will have to pack my car with things.
I will try my best, though, pack everything I need and
prepare double forks for further work at our mountain
cottage when it rains.
I will also coat them and for that I need one of the nail beds.
I am just so buyy with things and I feel like
crying out for help, and none is coming my way, of course...

Conchita, muy buenas tardes y como estas?
Para Ella aqui, 300! Lo crees?!
Llovio un poco durante la manya-na, pero
por lo demas ha sido bien. No demasiado caliente
y muy humedo, por supuesto.
Continuo la labor de revestimiento y recubrimiento
final de manya-na se llevara a cabo, entonces
quiero dejar para nuestra caba-nya de monta-nya.
Puedo realmente hacer eso? No estoy exactamente seguro...
Todavia hay tanto cosas que hacer antes de irme.
Bueno, entonces, vamos?

Conchita, I will call it a day, do you not?
Take care!
Today, I just could not continue with the double forks.
It was raining in the morning, so I concentreted on doing things
I could do sitting in my own room over a few cups of coffee.
I am now fairly convinced that I will be departing for our
mountain villa on Monday 20 July. Since we do not have internet
connection nor TV I must take a few books to read in the evenings.
These and a few others, I will be taking with me. The trouble is
that each can be finished in 5 to 6 days. I will not be coming
back here until 30 August (or even later) so how I spend my
evenings is a very serious matter indeed. If I run out of books
to read I may pop over to a bookshop and buy some in Japanese.
These above are the chopstics I prepared for the final
mat coating for this coming Sunday. I will also be busy with
loading my car with things to take to the cottage.
Since my mother is now hospitalised and since my wife is
not coming with me I will be loading all of the space
available in the car. That will help.
Now, this one above, an odd-man out re coating done
today was actually put into real use with our hiyamugi
noodle lunch today.
I am very, very happy that it worked as I had intended it
to do! Ever illusive noodle mound just behaved as I wanted!
You just stick the thing into the mound and turn it
through 180 degrees or so. Noodle threads just cling around
the 4 prongs. All you then need is to lift the whole thing and
rotate the thing in reverse direction.
It is very neat. In fact, my wife suggested that it can be used to
lift tofu blocks as well, adding that she had seen something
like this before in Kyoto.
If that were the case this invention of mine may sell throughout
the year. Naturally, I just do not have time to produce
these for the summer market. However, I will find time
in late October to mas-produce these. With respecto to
the double forks I will complete some and leave them with
girls so that they can try them out.
Re my web logging I have now decided that I will continue with it
through my mobile. They will be much, much shorter
than my PC versions, but you will be able to see
photos of crucial stages in my house construction process.
Conchita, there you are. Send me a mail re your baby daughter
needing a baby set of chopstics. She will sure have it made!
