60年代米国東海岸のアイビーリーガースに愛されたリーバイスの品番で、
通称ホワイトリーバイスと呼ばれておりました。
色々なお色が存在しましたが、その中でもやはりオフホワイトのかつらぎ素材が、
ポピュラーで写真集TAKE IVYなどを拝見しましても、穿いている姿が多いですね。
やはりコーディネィトが何にでも合うってのが魅力だったのかもしれませんね。
（僕の推測ですが）
アイビーリーガースに通う学生達は、東海岸の日本語で言うならボンボンが多かったので
労働者の穿いていたジーンズを嫌い、そこでリーバイスがそれならホワイトリーバイスと
言う名称でカラーパンツを打ち出してそれを学生達が好んで穿いたと云う説もございます。
それに写真集で見る限り皆さん、踝丈なのは、タンブラーで縮んだのをそのまま穿いていたとも
云われております。
その姿などを見て、日本人やヨーロッパの若者達が素足でローファーなどに踝丈の518を
コーディネィトされたとも言われておりますね。
まあ、ファッションの発祥とはそういうものなのかもしれませんが。
僕なども中学生時代は、必ずパンツは踝丈で裾巾18cmってのが方程式でした。
学校の制服のズボンも、其の当時VAN SHOPで購入しまして勿論踝丈で穿いておりました。
制服の上下が色が違うのがステイタスでもありました変な話ですが。
（あいつはVAN SHOPに通っているな！）とすぐさまに判りまして、それで友人も増えていきましたね。
かなり話は逸れておりますので、面舵いっぱいと！
現在は、僕のお店で日本人の体型に合うように518もパターンから別注しておりますので、
