『生』睡蓮 ("Real" water lily)

実はオランジュリー美術館を訪れた後、本物の睡蓮を見に、
モネが晩年過ごした村、Givernyを訪れました。

そこには、モネが植え、そして絵画のモチーフにもした、
『生』睡蓮があります。

『池の妖精たちが前に現れ、私はパレットを取り上げた。』

と後にモネが語るその池、そして睡蓮は、
100年以上たった今でも変わらずそこに存在し続けていました。
短い間でしたが、ほんの少しモネになりきって、
しばし池に浮かぶ睡蓮を眺めていました・・・

To tell the truth, I visited Giverny, the village where
Monet once lived at the end of his life,
after visiting le musee de l'Orangerie.

We can see the "real" water lily and pond that Monet raised
and drew for a series of pictures.

"Suddenly the fairies appeared in front of me,
and I started drawing with my pallete."

As he said sometime later, the water lily and pond themselves
really exist evene after spending 100 years.
I stayed there for a while, watching them
as if I were Monet for a moment...

パリにて (In Paris)

日本でもだんだんと涼しくなってきてるようですが、
こちらは８月とあまり変わりません。
暑い日もあれば、寒い日もある。８月と同じです。
が、パリでは少しずつ木々の色も変わり始めてるようです。

今日はコンコルド広場まで行ったので、その時に撮った写真をば。
アンニュイなパリの今の雰囲気を背景に恋人達が絵になります。
いいですねぇ～・・・

I heard that it got a little colder in Japan now.
Here, in France, the weather is almost the same as in August.
Hot, chilly, hot, chilly, it changes day by day, as in August.
However, in Paris, it seems that the autumn is coming soon.
I saw some autumn leaves in Paris today, altough not perfect.

The picture was taken at Concorde Place today.
With kinda dull atmosphere, lovers are good object for pictures.
Looks good...

睡蓮 (Water Lily)

今日（日曜日）は日中はオフにすると決めていたので、
やや遅く起きてからパリまで足を延ばしてみました。
行き先は、Musee de l'Orangerie（オランジュリー美術館）。

目的はもちろん、モネの『睡蓮』です。^^
以前から行ってみたいとは思っていたのですが、
なんとなく後回しになっていました。
ようやく思いが叶った？というわけです。

車で行く途中、オルセー美術館がえらい行列だったので
心配してましたが、100mくらいの行列で、待ち時間も15分強くらいだったので
それほど時間をつかわずに済みました。

『睡蓮』は２部屋に分かれるほどの大作。
僕は数はこなしてきましたが、それほど絵画に造詣が深いわけではないので、
あまり精神的な影響（？）は受けてきませんでしたが、
それでも十分楽しめました。
地下にはセザンヌ、ルノワール、モネなどの他の作品がずらり。
今日はなぜか皆ディスカウントレートで入場できて、
期待以上のお得感がありました♪

ここは日本人に有名なので知られていますが、
やはり、、、日本人観光客の方々はいっぱいいらっしゃいました。

Today (Sunday) is totally off in the daytime.
I visited Musee de l'Orangerie (Museum of Orangerie) in Paris
after getting up late.

The aim of my visit is, of course, "Water Lily" made by Claude Monet.
I have wanted to visit there but couldn't make it.
But I finally have my wish be realized.

On the way to the museum by car, I saw a long line of waiting people
in front of the Orsay Meseum, frightening me a little.
However, the waiting line was 100m or so and it took me about 15 minuets
to get in the museum.
That was fortunate for me.

"Water Lily" are the very masterpieces of Mr. Monet
that were hung in two rooms.
I was not impressed by those pictures because I'm not very enthusiastic
about paitings, but they were very good and I did have a good time.

Underground were a lot of pictures painted by Cesanne, Renoir, Monet and so on.
In addition, I could enter the museum for a discount rate.
Therefore, I was more satisfied than I expected.

This museum is said to be famous for Japanese,
and as it is, I saw a lot of Japanese tourists...

乾きカレー (Dry curry and rice)

正解は、ドライカレー！
そう、しげちんさん、大正解！
でも、何故分かった？？？

味は・・・めちゃ美味！
赤ワインを隠し味に使ってみたら、なんかコクが出た気がします。
もちろん、今日の晩飯もコレ。
寝かせたら美味い？・・・あんまし変わらん気がしますが。^^;

How did you come up with that idea???

It was very delicious, of course!
I put a cup of red wine into it, working very goooood!
Of course, I eat it again today.
Curry is said to become better when it is left one night,
but,,, nothing has changed for mine.^^;

自炊第２弾 (Cooking in France, the 2nd)

金土日の夜は学校で飯が食えないので、
パーティーにでも行かない限り飯にありつけません。^^;
というわけで、疲れている今週末はお誘いを（あっさり）振り切り、
土曜日の今日は家で自炊と洒落込みました♪

で途中の様子が写真の通り。最初は牛肉の切り落としを使おうと
してましたが、なんと、こちらではそのようなものは売っておらず。
お店の人に頼めば何とかしてくれそうですが、そこまで仏語は上達してないし・・・
というわけで、十八番の料理に変更。牛肉のミンチはちゃんとありました。
（豚肉は味付きしかなかったけど。。。）

何を作っているかは分かる人は分かるはず。
これまで数回振舞った経験がありますから。
で、出来上がりは・・・明日のお楽しみに！（笑）

During weekend, we cannot eat dinner at school.
So, I cannot find cheap and delicious meal unless I go to the party.:)
That's why I chose cooking by myself tonight.
(I'm really tired and easily chose not to go to the BBQ...)

You can see the situation how I cook in the picture above.
At first, I tried to cook another dish buying the cut-off beaf,
but YOU CANNOT FIND ANY CUT-OFF BEAF IN FRANCE!
I couldn't speak French fluently enough to order it to the butcher...
Then I changed my mind, cooking my specialty.
Yes, I easily found the minced beaf.
(However, minced porc was not there except the seasoned one...)

Those who have eaten before easily find what I cook.
I had cooked it for several times before in Japan.
Then, what does it look like?
I'll tell you later, maybe tomorrow.^^

カツ丼！ (Fried-Porc Bowl)

今日は日曜日。フランスではスーパーは午後はお休みが大半。
Inseadで勉強するも、Barなどは当然閉店。
で、わざわざ車を飛ばしてFontyの中心で飯を食うのも面倒。

と言うわけで、今日はカツ丼に初挑戦！してみました。^^
・・・なぜ、カツ丼？
1) だしの素を日本食材店で手に入れた
2) 同じ家に住んでる韓国人が「カツ丼大好き！」と言っていた
3) 簡単そうだった（＜かなり思い込み）
というのが主な理由。

とんかつを作るのが山場だと思っていましたが、やはりそうでした。
以前、テレビで観たときに、
・低温で揚げる→高温で揚げる
・余熱で中まで火を通す
・パン粉は二度漬け
とかいうのを観た記憶がある（かなりあいまい）ので、
とりあえずやってみました。
肉が柔らかかったので難しかったんですが、
温度も測らない適当さの割には上手くいきました。

で、出来上がりは写真の通り。
見た目、かなり美味そう♪
で、実際、かなり美味ぁーーーい！
日本食、最高です。^^

On Sundays, supermarket is closed in France (especially in the afternoon).
At Insead, I cannot buy anything to eat, of course.
Going to Fonty all the way is also time-consuming...

Then, I tried to cook Katsu-don (fried-porc bowl?) by myself today.
...Why Katsu-don?
1) I've finally got the source of soup needed for Japanese cuisine
2) A korean who is my housemates once said, "I love Katsu-don!"
3) It seems easy to cook... (subjective opinion)

Cooking "Ton-katsu" seemed the most difficult, and it was.
When I was in Japan, I learned how to cook Ton-katsu on TV.
It said:
- Fry at lower temperature first, then at higher temp.
- Let a Ton-katsu well-cooked with the heat left after being fried.
- Dip the Ton-katsu twice in the powder of Bread.
I followed the way I remembered...
Actually, the meat was a little soft, making cooking more difficult.
However, it went well despite my let-it-go way to cook it.

The picture above is the result, looking nice.
Then it was actually GREAT!
I love Japanese cuisine...

なんちゃってパリ♪ (Paris)

今日は補講を２つ受けた後、
その足でパリまでドライブ♪と洒落込みました・・・

と言っても、観光地はほぼ網羅しつくしている（まだネタはありますが）ので、
今回の目的はずばり『日本食材探し』です。^^;

相棒のPeugeot207とTomTom510(GPS)を駆使して、パリの街もスーイスイ♪
道がかなり複雑で車線も無いので、ナビなしでは生きていけません。
駐車場まで検索してくれて、もう大助かり♪
で、目的地の日本食店『佳苗』に到着。
場所は日本人が多く住んでいるらしい、15区ですね。

幾つか食材を購入後、そのままとんぼ返りで家まで戻ってきました。。。
都会は今は住みたくない気分ですが、パリはどこか魅力ある街ですね。。。
あぁ、今度は時間ある時に来よう！

After taking 2 lectures, I drove to Paris directly.
As I've already visited most of the famous touristy places,
the objective of this drive was "Getting Japanese Foods!"

With Peugeot 207 and TomTom 510 (GPS), I easily reached
the Japanese grocery store named "Kanae."
GPS system was really great help, I wouldn't be able to
drive in Paris without it due to the heavy traffic and wild manners.
"Kanae" locates in 15 ward of Paris,
where a lot of Japanese live, I heard.

Although I wanted to stay longer in Paris,
I came back to my home as soon as I bought the necessary foods.
Yes, I have to study for the exam next week...

とあるP1生徒の１日 (One day of a certain P1 participant)

どうも、この所更新頻度が下がったせいか、ページビューの数も減少傾向ですね。
ただ、そんな中でも平均50PV/day (20IP/day)なのは嬉しい限りです。^^

ようやく週末ということで、少しほっとしてますが、
今日は僕の１日について書いてみたいと思います。

9/15（金）

7:00 起床・・・するが、今日は1限が休講なので二度寝決行。
8:30 流石に起きて、CNNをBGMにシリアルとコーヒーで朝飯。
9:15 家を出る。この時間になると車や窓の結露も取れている。
9:35 INSEAD到着。今日は地下駐車場に駐車。
10:15-11:45 ミクロ経済の授業。予習していたが、
　　　　　　 最後はちんぷんかんぷん？で終わる。
12:00-13:30 統計学の補講に参加。こうでもしないと復習しない。
14:00 昼食。同級生（南ア、ナイジェリア、アメリカ）の会話についていけず。
15:00 某企業Nのプレゼンに参加。
17:00 某企業Bのプレゼンに参加。最後は半分白昼夢状態。
19:00 某企業Gのプレゼンに参加。.com企業っぽい社風を感じ取る。
20:00 某企業Bの方（日本人）と会食
23:30 帰宅。
1:45（現在） Financeの復習中。

今日は就職活動に時間を割いたので、こんな感じです。
普段は21:00-2:00頃を予習の時間にあててますかね。

なんとなくイメージできたでしょうか？？？^^;

15th, September (Friday)

7:00 Got up but went to bed again because of no class from 8:30 today.
8:30 Got up again, and had a breakfast (cereal and coffee) with BGM of CNN.
9:15 Left home. Dew on the windows of my car and house were gone at this time.
9:35 Arrived at INSEAD. (at the car-park underground)
10:15-11:45 Class of Microeconomics. At the last moment, I lost myself in the class.
12:00-13:30 Complementary class for Statistics. Good way of re-studying.
14:00 Lunch with classmates (from South Africa, Nigeria, and the US),
however, couldn't understand their talk...
15:00 Joined to the presentation on job-searching by N.
17:00 Joined to the presentation on job-searching by B. Daydreaming...
19:00 Joined to the presentation on job-searching by G. Typical .com company.
20:00 Dinner with a B company's partner and other Japanese INSEAD participants.
23:30 Back to home.
1:45(Now!) Studying Finance...

Today, I participated in a lot of career-related events,
but normally, I study from 21:00-2:00 or so.

Can you imagine my life???^^;

モン・サン・ミシェル (Le Mont Saint Michel)

もしかしてP1の最後まで時間が取れそうにないかも？と思ったので、
行ってきましたよ。行くのが長年の夢の１つであった、モン・サン・ミシェルへ！

最近はあまり感動しなくなってきてますが、流石に最初に視界に
入ってきたときはちょいと感動♪してしまいました。^^
内部は以前行ったエズの街やアルカトラズをやや思い出させますが、
（この修道院は以前、監獄としても使われていたから？）
修道院のテラスからの眺めと、逆に地上からのモン・サン・ミシェルの眺めは
言葉では言い表せないほど良かったです。

土曜の午後、授業が終わってから行ったのですが、
GPSがあらぬ道を示したりしてくれたので、宿まで片道6-7時間、
帰りも渋滞に巻き込まれて5-6時間もかかってしまいました。
まぁ、おかげでフランスの道路の仕組みやGPSの使い方が分かったし、
帰りには偶然ヴェルサイユ宮殿とHECの側を通ることが出来ました。

その後遅くまで予習していたので、今朝の授業は頭が回らず。。。
"Play hard, Work hard."はなかなか難しいですね。。。

I expected that we would not have a couple of free holidays
hereafter until the end of P1 term,
so I visited Le Mont Saint Michel last weekend.

As I get older, I have been becoming less impressed by anything.
However, it was not applied for this experience;
I was really moved when I saw it at the first sight.

The structure and design reminded me of
the town of Eze and alcatraz prison,
(actually this monastry was once used as prison)
but the view from inside and outside of the Mont Saint Michel
were really nice and hard to express in words.

I departed Insead after taking classes Saturday morning,
and it took me nearly 6-7 hours to get there
due to the misdirection of my GPS navigation system.
In return, I also had to spend 5-6 hours to get back
due to the traffic jam on my way to home.
However, I could understand how the traffic in France went
and coincidentally encountered the Versaille Palace and HEC.
(HEC is one of the business school in France)

Before getting to sleep, I studied for today's class.
So I was not actually awake this morning...
(I understood the class less than usual)
"Play hard, work hard" is not an easy stuff...
