A組の様子です。
全5回中の今日が3回目でした。
ほとんどの人が作品の雰囲気や全体像が明確になってきています。
中には完成して来年度の6年生のために見本をつくってくれている人も
います。
一人ひとりのテーマの絞り方が違うので見ているだけでも楽しいもので
す。
いろんな材料を駆使して制作しています。
この作品は音符の形に彫った後、ビーズを埋め込んでいます。
テーマによっては自分の六年間を表現している人もいます。
つくりながら昔話やこれからのことを話しながら作業は進みます。
校章をテーマに取り組んでいます。色にもこだわっているようです。
2名の人が完成しました。
まだ題名やコンセプトカードは制作していないので詳細は分かりません。
ここでは作品のみを紹介しておきますね。
Students from class B.
We started to make our bag after practicing before.
Everyone needed to think of what pattern they would use on their bag.
Putting the tape onto newspapers can be quite difficult.
Some people worked together.
Students needed to fix the join in the paper and also worked together waiting for the tape.
Making our art work is important, but so is this sort of cooperation. The students in class B did a really great job.
Ｃ組の様子です。
まくらの中身になる新聞紙を柔らかくすることから始めました。
やわらかさを比べあいながら活動していました。
柔らかくなると軽く感じます。
「え？どうして軽くなってきた？？？」
と驚いていました。
新聞紙の次は画用紙です。
「え！まさか！」
と画用紙を出したときはみんな驚いていました。
最初は折りたたむことで画用紙に曲がりやすくなる癖をつけます。
それから揉むのです。
この1過程入れるだけでずいぶんと揉みやすくなります。
中にはたたんでから叩く人もいました。
これもずいぶん有効なようです。
「ほら、こんなになったよ！」
と柔らかくなった画用紙を見せてくれました。

Students from class C.
In this project we will make a bag from tape and newspaper.
We first practiced how to make the bag.
This is the most difficult part of this activity.
How you fold the bag to make the finished bag is important.
”Teacher, I made a mistake” a couple of people said to me.
First you needed to fold the paper in half lengthways. Then you put tape along the sides.
Having done this you should have a little pocket.
As people managed to finished their paper pocket I could hear a little cheer around the room. Some people who didn’t make it work had ingenious ways of fixing their design.
There was an opportunity to make something different.
Here the pocket has become a triangle…
Or here there is a backpack type bag.
People try lots of new ideas when they get a chance like this!

Students from class B.
The shape of the form is being developed.
As time goes on you can build on the image to make it exactly as you want it.
Some people have devised their own techniques.
Drilling holes…
New parts can be connected.
Selotape can be used to make parts stronger.
Here are some examples of work.
Next time we will stick paper wet with glue to make the finished form.
An important part of Art class is learning how to clean up properly.
Everyone works hard to clean the room. I think people think more about the Art room when they need to clean up afterwards.
