At the tanabata festival scooping gold fish is a popular game for children.
These boys and a girl are not good at scooping. Their paper nets have already broken without catching fish. But they will be presented two fish after the game.

The Asagaya Tanabata Festival is held from August 5 to August 9.
In the festival there is no Tanabata decoration which has seven tradittional ornerments in the Sendai Tanabata Festival but fukinagasi and writing paper. At Sendai, all ornaments should be hang to a big bunch of bamboo. At Asagaya, big ornaments are hang from the ceiling of arcade. The peculiarity of the Asagaya Tanabata is the big papier-mache figures.
