あ、どこかで昔聞いたことがあるような…。実際は、A Mail from Canadaが正しいのですが…ともかく、カナダからの便りを今日はお届けします。「で、誰から？」from my sonです。実は今日は僕の誕生日でして（もう嬉しくないですが…）、現在CanadaにいるsonからHappy Birthday Mailをもらいました。たまには僕の説明より、実際のネイティブのメールを読んで生の英語の感覚を知ってもらおうと思い、本人には一応連絡した上で、そのままのメールを載せることにしました。私信ではありますが、英語の勉強に役立つと思い使用することにしました。単語とかはさして難しくないと思うので、訳はあえてしません。現在のカナダの状況と、親への（アメリカ人の）メールがどんな感じかを知ってもらえたらと思います。では、どうぞ…。

Happy birthday, hope you're well and have a great day!
I've spent most of the past weekend in downtown Vancouver, and the celebrations have been crazy with Canada having the best performance in history. I was on Robson and Granville right after the Canadians won the gold medal in hockey, and I've never seen so many people and Canadian flags in my life, could barely move. I also went to the
official Olympic flagship store at The Bay, they didn't have the mittens in adult sizes anymore just really small childrens'. I did pick up a souvenir for you, hope you like it. I'm probably sending it back to Japan with my friend who'll be heading back to Shiga in a week, and he'll ship it to you from there.
Anyway it seems I've finally caught a cold for the first time in years
and I'm running a fever at the moment, really hoping it doesn't get
any worse.
