共和党上院議員が、最近トランプ大統領の旧ホテルで転倒して入院したミッチ・マコーネル上院少数党首が引退すると予想しているとの新たな報道が浮上した。

The Spectatorは木曜日の午後、他の共和党指導者たちが党員に働きかけ、指導者投票の可能性について支持を集めていると報じた。

The Spectatorは、"現在、複数の情報筋が、ワイオミング州のジョン・バラッソ上院議員、テキサス州のジョン・コーニン上院議員、サウスダコタ州のジョン・チューン上院議員が、予想されるリーダー投票（マコーネルがリーダーとしての職務から引退し、おそらく上院自体も引退することが発表されて行われるだろう投票）に備えて、同僚の共和党上院議員に積極的に接触していると確認している "と書いています。

"He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment," a spokesperson said.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is hospitalized after he fell in Washington, D.C., during a private hotel dinner.

"This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner," David Popp, a spokesman for the Kentucky Republican, told Fox News Digital. "He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment."

McConnell, 81, tripped and fell at his home in Kentucky in 2019 and underwent surgery for a shoulder fracture.
