この場所に立つと、普段は意識しないからだの感覚が

目覚めてくる。


「宮崎駿さんと養老孟司さんの対談集に、反転地のこと

が出てくるんですよ。

お二人ともすごく面白かったとおっしゃっているので、

一度行ってみたいと思っていたんです」


世界的なアーティスト荒川修作氏、マドリン、ギンズ”

体験できる“アート作品だ。

フィルドには「もののあわれ変容器」「宿命の家」

「切り閉じの間」

ユニークなネーミングの作品が斜面に点在している。

周囲のものすべてが傾いているので,軽いめまいに

襲われる。


歩いていても水平が取れない。緩い斜面だと思っていると、

実際は予想外の傾斜がきつく、四つん這いになって上がる

ことになる。視覚、聴覚、触覚、平均感覚、いろんな仕掛け

に満ちているのだ。

重力とは何ぞや、とかいろいろ考えさせられますね。

普段使ってない感覚が目覚めてきて、自分の“からだ”が

どんな状態なのか、鏡に写したように分かるのが面白い。

普段あまりに便利な生活をしていると、自分の“からだ”と

いうものがどんどん遠ざかっていく感じがするんです。

ここって油断すると危険な場所もあって、いろんなものに

遠慮がない。

それだけにほんとうの身体性みたいなものにたどり着ける

気がしますね。

「視覚で楽しむのもありだけど、もったいない気がしますね。

手で触って、匂いを嗅いで、耳で聞いて、肌で感じてと、

全センサーを駆動させたものが体験じゃないですか。

そういう実体験の蓄積があれば、バーチャルな体験も

豊かなものになる気がします」

「明日は筋肉痛かな」と山﨑監督は、苦笑い。

それでも“未知との遭遇”に大満足の様子だった。

山﨑監督の天命反転地のとんでもなさの表現が、

上手いなぁと感じながら、三鷹天命反転住宅時代の

からだ感覚が蘇りました。(笑)

It's interesting to see how your "body" looks like in a mirror

 when you awaken to a feeling that you don't normally use.

When I usually live a very convenient life, I feel that my "body" 

is getting farther away.
There are some dangerous places if you're not careful here, 

so don't hesitate to do various things.
That's why I feel like I can reach something like a true physicality.


"It's fun to see, but I think it's a waste.
Touching it with your hands, smelling it, listening to it with your 

ears, and feeling it with your skin, isn't it an experience that 

drives all the sensors in your body? With the accumulation of 

such real experiences, I feel that virtual experiences will be 

enriched. "

"I wonder if I will have muscle pain tomorrow," said Yamazaki 

with a bitter smile.
Still, he seemed very satisfied with the "encounter with the 

unknown."
