週末はRock（あ、もう週明けか）。今宵の一枚はKingCrimsonのIslands。録音は1970年、レーベルはAtlantic。このアルバム実に25年ぶりにターンテーブルに乗った。Crimsonといえば、「21世紀の精神異常者」や「太陽と戦慄」、「ポセイドンの目覚め」をずいぶんと聴き込んだが、なぜかこのIslandはほとんど聴かなかった。B面に至ってはおそらく今回を含めで数回しか針を落としていないだろうから、曲の記憶がない。Jazz風でありまたClassic風でもあり、なんとも不思議なアルバムである。A面最後のThe letter。詞が強烈で女は怖いなぁ、とつくづく思ったもの。
