好かれた悪人Evil who was liked

 

 

 

人の好き嫌いは生物的な反応である。

People’s preference of like or dislike

is biological reactions.

 

何々が良いから好きだとか、

嫌いだとかの理由付けは

生まれ育った環境によって変わっていく。

Personal liking or disliking reasonably changes

depending on the environment differences were to born and raised.

住まいが韓国から日本、またアメリカにと

３回も国が変わると

人の好き嫌いの多様性に驚くことが多い。

I was often surprised at the diversity of preference

as my residence places changed three times

from Korea to Japan and the USA.

 

美学の基準も変われば、

道徳の価値判断も変わる。

When the aesthetic criteria change,

so does the moral judgment too.

 

先週、レッスンに向かう道で

元大統領トランプの旗を２つも掲げて走る車を見た。

Last week. On the way to ballet class,

I saw a car raised two flags of former president Trump.

 

トランプの旗は無法時代、不道徳、

言論の暴動性が広がっていた

トランプ時代を思わせる。

Trump flag reminds me of the Trump era

when unlawful, immorality,

and violence of speech was widened in the country.

 

トランプがツイッターアカウントを持っていた時は、

自分の自画自賛の投稿や

誰かを非難しあざ笑う文句が

毎日ニュースになっていた。

When Trump had a Twitter account,

he posted his own self-praising postings

or laughing at the people and blaming them,

he made news with such almost every day.

 

人はトランプ派と反トランプ派に別れて、

私が会う相手がトランプ派かも知れない恐怖感を伴った。

People were divided into

Trump supporters and anti-Trump

so I was terrified someone who I see

might be a trump supporter.

トランプ派の人達は話が通じないような傾向があって、

時と場所構わず

自分の意見を通そうとする態度を持つ人が多かった。

Trump supporters have an issue with communication

and most of them seemed to have the attitude that

trying to push their opinions through

regardless of when and where.

 

特定の集団の宣伝文句やYouTubeサイトの情報を信じ、

事実の判断に偏りを見せる人も多かった。

Many of them showed bias in arbitrating the processing of the facts

and seemed to believe the propaganda

informed by a specific group

and the information on the YouTube sites.

 

トランプは人を憎むことを扇動することが

極めて得意だった気がする。

I think Trump prevailed at inciting to be hatred.

 

トランプが好きな人達は

トランプの悪人ぶりが酷くなればなるほど

もっと好きになっていくように見えた。

People who liked Trump

they seemed to accelerate to like him more

the worse he did and the evil he was.

 

彼らはトランプのために戦い、

トランプのように大胆に悪人になることも恐れなかった。

They fought for Trump and were unafraid to be evil

as to be like Trump and took the bull by the horns.

 

彼らは選挙が終わっても

トランプが勝ったと主張し、

選挙が盗まれたと信じている。

They claimed Trump won even after the election,

believing that the election was stolen.

彼らは人として持つべき倫理や道徳を

あざ笑うようにも見えた。

They seemed to laugh at the ethics and morals

that people should have.

 

トランプ時代のあの４年間、

私は毎日、人の道徳判断が情報によって

傾くことを目撃した。

In the 4 years of the Trump era,

I witnessed people’s moral judgment was slopping and tipping

by the information they get.

 

アメリカの精神文化に確固たる哲学の支えが無く、

時代の変化に流れてしまうことを

ただ見るだけの無力さを感じた。

I felt powerless and had no choice but to see,

and it led me to think that

Americans' spiritual culture lacks a firm philosophic basis

and it also drifted with generation changes.

 

アメリカの政治倫理は基盤が浅く、前例も少ない。

The political ethics in the USA are shallowly grounded

and the historical cases are also fewer.

 

トランプ時代では民主主義の名の元で、

非倫理も不道徳も言論の自由として広がっていた。

In the Trump era, both immorality and unethical

prevailed in the name of freedom of speech.

 

トランプ時代がやっと終わった今、

古き良きアメリカに戻ろうとする動きがある中で、

未だにトランプの旗を掲げて走る車を見ると

あの息の詰まる４年間を思い出させる。

Now the Trump era is finally over

and on the way get back to being good and the old America,

seeing the car with Trump flags on it,

reminded those 4 years for me too hard to breathe.

 

私は政治については知っていないし、

また知りたくもないと思っている。

I don’t know politics nor want to know well of it.

だが、政治は過半数の意見を絶対的に反映する。

But politics absolutely reflects the opinions of the majority.

 

トランプのような人が好きで

彼の政策を支持する選挙区が多かった時代が示唆するのは、

人の好き嫌いの傾向が変わっていることを反映している。

The time when many constituencies

which supports Trump's policy

and they liked the one like Trump,

it means people’s preferences are shifting.

 

人の好き嫌いが情報によって操作される時代になると

トランプのような人が増える気がする。

I guess if information manipulates people’s liking and disliking,

it makes increasing more people like Trump.

 

悪人が好かれる時代は、

まあーそう長くはなかったことが救いでもあるが….

It is a relief for me that the era of evil guys being loved

the time was not that long though….
