自信感の背景Settings of confidence

 

 

 

魅力的な人になる条件の一つに

自信感を持つことがある。

One of the conditions for being attractive

is to have confidence.

言い換えれば、自信感がある人は

魅力的に見えるということである。

In other words,

people who have confidence look attractive.

 

だが、私は自信感に溢れている人が

どうも好きになれない。

However, I don’t like fully confident people at any cost.

何故なら、その人が持つ自信感に根拠があるのか

どうかを見てしまうからである。

Because I tend to look at the confidence that

they have shown would have the basis to prove.

 

自信感に溢れている人を見ることは煩わしい。

It is annoying for me to see overly confident people.

その人がどんなに良くできるにせよ、

私とはなんの関係が無い。

No matter how those people are good at something,

it has nothing to do with me.

 

国を代表するオリンピック選手なら、

自信感そのものに見えることは当たり前だが、

日常の人間関係の中では

自信感はその人だけが持つ個人事にすぎない。

An Olympic player who represents one’s country

must show what confidence should be,

but in normal human relationships,

a confident feeling merely belongs in the individual.

 

自信感は極めて個人的な感情である。

Confidence is an extreme personal emotion.

自分があることを間違いなく遂行できる能力でもある。

It also indicates an ability to achieve without fail.

自分ができると信じる感じにすぎず、

バックアップが無くても誰でも持つことは可能である。

It is merely a feeling of believing

that would be able to do it,

and anyone can have the feeling even without backup.

 

そう信じることに根拠が無くても誰も判定しない。

Even though there is no basis

for such a belief, no one will judge.

だが、その自信の度合が行動に表れて、

人の期待にそぐわなかった場合は

自他共にがっかりすることになる。

However, when those confidences appear as an action,

and if it fails to meet expectations,

the person and others who witnessed will be disappointed.

 

自信感に溢れている人は人の感じ方も

操作しようとする傾向があるように見える。

The confident people looked like

they tried to manipulate how others should feel.

人の良し悪しの判断基準を

自分流に変えたがる心構えが

根底にあるからかもしれない。

Perhaps, in their underlying minds

would want to change people’s good or bad judgment favorably.

 

人の判断まで自分が握っていると

錯覚しているようにも見えたりする。

They seem to have illusional perceptions

that they can control people’s way of feeling.

要するに、何が自分の感じであって、

何が人の感じであるか区別できていない。

In short, they can’t classify what is their own feeling

or what feeling is to be other’s.

 

それらのズレをコントロールしないと、

根拠の無い自信感は

煩わしい態度として行動に表れる。

If the disparity is out of control,

the confidence loses basis,

and it appears a lousy attitude.

では、人を裏切らない自信感とは

どのような状態を指すのか。

Then, what components indicate

confidence that will not let others down?

 

絶対失敗しない確実性

The certainty that never fails.

絶対成功させる確信性

The conviction that absolute success.

条件に頼らない能力

The ability that never relies on conditions.

 

それら３つの基本が根底に

土台としてあると自信感は結果としてついてくる。

If someone has the 3-basis as the foundation,

confidence will come as a result.

自信感は探して持つことでなく、

ついてくる結果である。

Confidence is not something one looks to have;

it is a result that comes along.

 

自信感を持つために努力しても

自信感はついてきてくれない。

The confident mind will not come for you

even though you make efforts to have it.

何かができるようになるまで、

項目の能力が必要なら、

10項目をクリアして

次の段階に移行できる準備ができた時に

自信感は自然にきてくれる。

If we define there are 10 kinds of abilities

needed to accomplish something,

when all the optional 10s are cleared

and get ready to step up to the level,

the confidence will come naturally.

 

結果を急ぐ人に自信感は遅くくる。

Confidence comes late to those rushing for it.

過程を長く持つ人に自信感は早くくる。

Confidence comes quickly to those processing longer.

 

信じる、信じないことの裏の背景には、

その感じを裏つける事実の質と量があるのだろう。

Behind believing or unbelievable,

there will be quality and quantities of facts that

can back them up.
