乾燥した北アフリカのモロッコの街角をうろうろと走っていそうな1973年形のランドローバーシリーズⅢ。これはカリフォル二アのオーナーが週末の街乗りとして維持していた物を市場に出した非常に良げなランドローバーである。走行距離は22500マイル（3万6千キロ）そしてオリジナルペイント、更に錆なし。
Land Rover was found off of a Craigslist ad 5 years ago. I drug it from a garage after sitting for more than 14 years. At the time it only had 9,800 miles on it. This is the cleanest un-restored Series Land Rover I have ever seen. The rear cross member still has cosmolene on it. This is a rust free Rover with just over 22000 miles on it currently. It is only driven on the weekends, and even then a very short distance.
After dragging it from the barn all of the hydraulics were replaced, fuel tanks pulled, cleaned sealed and re-installed. New heater installed (the old one was rotted) new tires all around, wheels were pulled, sandblasted and powder coated to match the body. After about 6 months of it being back on the road the suspension started failing (the front spring froze and the rear started sagging). I had all of the suspension replaced with stock Land Rover springs, shackles, shocks and all new hardware. I also had a Fairey overdrive installed new right out of the box. So you can have this as a daily driver, she tops out at about 60 MPH. The interior is in great shape all panels are there with no tears or missing pieces.
このローバーを手にしたら異国の砂漠を走ってみたくなる？ステアリングを握った前方に広がる光景はラクダが横切る褐色の砂埃と乾燥した太陽、聞きなれない言葉が交差する。そんな場所に旅に出たいって思う。
この世には似つかわしい、つまり吊り合いの合わない事は起こり難い。即ちランドローバーⅢを手にしたら最後、これに相応しい景色を求めて海を越える、そんな気持ちにさせる一台、そういう恐ろしい魅力を持っているのが古いランドローバーなのだ。
そう思うと、結構高い買い物になるかもしれないぞっ！（笑）
欲しい車は冷静には考えない事。（笑）
