日本に死者と接せる場所がある

There is a place in Japan where can get in touch with dead

青森県むつ市にある恐山は

Osorezan is in Mutsu city, Aoyama prefecture

『人が死ねば恐山に行く』と言い伝えられている

The place has been telling down

-as saying 『if people die, they go there』

恐山の中にある寺院『菩提寺』の院代南直哉は作家でもあり

The Buddhist temple 『Bodaiji』 which is in the mountain called Osorezan

-Minami Naoya who is a writer also as deputy Buddhist priest of the monastery

彼が書いた本『恐山-死者のいる場所』には

In his book of titled, 『Osorezan-A place, Died-people There』

恐山に行けば死者に会えるとの古くからの

There have been telling that if go to Mt. Osorezan can meet the dead

民間の言い伝えを僧侶の視点から書いている

-the unofficial telling from old days described

-by his point of view as a Buddhist priest 

私は死や死者について深く考えたことが無かったため

I never thought deeply about dead and died-people so

その本は私に新しい世界観を開けてくれた

-the book opened a new worldview for me

約30年前に他界した私の祖母には

My grandmother who passed away about 30 years ago

今も会いたいと願っているので

Still I wish to see her again so that

恐山に行けば会えるかも知れない

-if I go to Osorezan, maybe I could see her

もし死んだ人に会うことができるなら

If I could meet the dead

私の祖母とアインシュタインに会ってみたい

I want to see my grandmother and Einstein

この恐山について知った初めての切っ掛けは

The first cue to became to know about the Osorezan was

偶然に南直哉氏のビデオをYouTubeで発見し

-coincidently, I found Minami Naoya’ video on YouTube

自我に対する彼の解釈を聞いてからだった

From since I heard his ego-interpretation

彼は、自我はドーナツの真ん中の空いている部分のようで

He said that ego seems like the emptied center part of a donut

実際有るのだが取り出そうとしても

-even though the donut has the actual center

-but if try to take out the center part of the donut

その真ん中が無いから

-because there is no center part of it

取り出すことができないと言っていた

Thus, the center part cannot be taken out

その言葉を聞いた瞬間、

The moment I heard his explain

何かの大きな音が私の心に響いた

Something loud note resounded in my mind

以後、彼についてもっと知りたくなったので

Since then, I became to wanting to know more about him

南直哉について検索したら

I started to search Minami Naoya

Wikipediaに彼のブログへのリンクがあった

Wikipedia has his link site to his own blog

彼のブログを読み始めてから

Ever since I started to reading his blog

何かのつながりを感じたので

I felt connected with him somehow

私も彼が書いている同じブログ業者に登録し

I also registered with the same blog dealer he writes

自分のブログを始めたことにもつながった

It led me to starting my own blogging

その上、ブログを経由して知り合ったTは

Moreover, T who became to know by blogging

南直哉氏が書いた数冊の本を私に送ってくれた

-he sent me some Minami Naoya’s books

Tが送った本の箱には恐山について

書かれてある本があり

In the box, T sent me, one of the books written about Osorezan

死者の行ける場所を知るようになったのである

I became to know that there is a place the dead could go

私のブログは坐禅の研究がメインで

My blog’s main study is zazen

坐禅を心理学の視点から捉えようとしている

I’ve been trying to capture zazen view points from psychology

坐禅の扱う核心は自我であり

The dealing core of zazen is an ego

心理学の扱う対象も自我が持つ心である

The subject treated by psychology is also the mind an ego has

坐禅心理学を知っていく過程で

In the process getting to know psychological zazen

死も生とセットになって必然的に扱うようになる

Inevitably comes to treat life and death as a set

死とは、現時点から見ると以下の捉え方ができる

Dead, from the present time can describe following ways

ある終わり、無くなる、不在になる

Be an end, Has disappeared, Become absent

消える、死体になる、生命が無くなる

Vanish, Becomes a corps, No life

見えなくなる、物体ではなくなる、死者になる

Becomes invisible, Becoming not a body, Becomes dead

未来の時点から死者を見れば

If see the dead from the future time sentence

存在していた、人間であった、誰かの家族であったなど

Such as, Existed, Was a human being, Was someone’s family, etc.

記憶のような枠組みの中で再現できる

Like a memory, they can be reproduced in the framework

死んだ人から見た過去の時点は

From the dead person’s view the past time would be seen such as

いずれは自分に来る

Eventually it will come to me-myself

いずれは自分も死者になるなど

Eventually me-myself will be a dead body

未来の約束であったはずだ

It should have been a promise of the future

一つの死は一定の存在時期を持ち

One death has a certain period to be existence

死の瞬間から線香の煙のように

From the moment became dead, like an incense smoking

香りと灰を残し実体が無くなる

Left the scent and the ashes and the entity is gone

もし私が死者になった時

If I become a dead body

私は私の家族に会いたくなるだろうか

Wondering that I would want to see my family

会うことができるなら

If I could see them

生きている人に話したい何かを持つだろうか

Would I have something to talk to alive people?

話すことができるなら

If I could talk to the alive people

それは言語を利用する必要があるから

It because becomes to need to use a language

その言語は何言になるだろうか

Then what language would be?

死者には国籍が無いはずだし

The deceased should have no any nationalities

子孫を残す必要がないから性別も無くなるはずだ

There is no reason to leave offspring,

-so, sexual gender also should disappear

意思を疎通させる目的は

The purpose of making communication

Aが思うことをBに伝え

Tell B, what A thinks

Bに伝わったことをAが再び受け取る確認である

-confirming that A receives again what transmitted to B

生者Aが死者BにXを伝えたい場合

In a case a living person A wishes to inform X to deceased person B

AとXは存在するがBは存在しないため

A and X are existed but does not exist B

意思のXを伝達できなくなる

It will not be able to transmit the intension X

また死者Bの言語脳も無くなっているから

Also, the language brain of dead B is gone

Aの放つ言語はBにとって受ける媒体が無くなる

The language that A releases, as for B lost the medium to take

だが、日本の恐山には死者Bが行く場所

However, Osorezan in Japan the place where the dead B goes

そのYが存在すると言われているのだ

It has been telling that the Y exists

死者は何語で生者に話しかけるだろうか

With what kind of languages, the dead would speak to living?

言語脳の無い死者が話す言葉は

The language dead speaks without language brain

言葉でなく波長だろうか

It would not words then it would be a wave?

波長であれば生者がその波長を受け取れば

If it is a wavelength, if a living person receives the wavelength

AとB間の交信ができる

Between A and B can have communicate

恐山の硫黄は生者が放つ気Xを

The sulfur in Osorezan, the energy X

-which a living person releasing

（恐山火山から放出される硫黄）

(Sulfur is releasing from the volcanic Osore-mountain)

生物の電子伝達系に変え

The sulfur changes electronic transmission system

-to biological system

死者に生者の放つ気Xを伝えられるだろうか

Could transfer to the dead with the energy X which living gives off

もし死者がいる次元があると仮定すれば

If set a hypothesis that there is a dimension

-where the dead exist

恐山はその次元に入っていく

入口かも知れない

Osorezan might be a gateway to get into the dimension
