This month's session for the "英語で話そう会" was held on August 12 with the discussion topic on "Summer Vacation: overseas travel trend ". It's the fourth summer since the outbreak of COVID-19 and we can finally enjoy travelling abroad. Thank God.
During the discussion, we shared our first overseas travel experiences. For some, it was a solo 80-day trip to Europe after graduation or to meet a beautifl pen pal in Philippines or in China, for some, it was a business assignment to a civil war stricken Vietnam, to an Asteroid's home town of Huston, Texas, to New York to meet John D. Rockfeller and for some, it was moving to foreign countries due to their father's business assignment. It was indeed interesting to hear how different these countries were back in 70's to 90's.
Yen looks like to stay weak for several months. No need to hurry. You still got time to think of your destination for the summer of 2024.
