This month's sesion for the "英語で話そう会" was held on November 11 with a discussion topic, "Have you ever read a book by Haruki Murakami". The session was led by Tanaka san.
Haruki Murakami is one of the most well-known Japanese authors in Japan as well as in abroad. Interesting thing is that there are many people who love his works but at the same time there are same number of people who don't love the works.
Since many people find his novels hard to understand since;
1) the situation changes suddenly,
2) very unique characters that are hard to empathize
However, from those who love his novels explains that througout stories he is expressing the ever constatnly changing world and how we are engrossed in this situtation....
Getting complicated? At the end of the day, novels are novels. Try not to think too much about its meaning. Let's just enjoy reading.
