落ち着かせる ------> Soothing (形容詞）
リラックスする、くつろぐ------> Relax- relaxed- relaxing
穏やかな --------> Tranquil (形容詞）(トランクワル） 平静、安定 ------->tranquility (名詞）
鎮静剤、精神安定剤 -------> Tranquilizer
音楽は野蛮人の胸をなだめすかす魅力がある。-------> Music Soothes the Savage Beast.
この軟膏はとてもなめらかである/ 鎮静効果がある/ 心地よい-------> This ointment is very soothing.

【comfortable (形容詞）苦痛がない、楽な、快適な】

【it is + 形容詞 + of +人+ to + 動詞 . 人は～だ。 ~してくれてありがとう】
私を待ってくれてあなたはいい人です/ いい人でした(直訳）/ 待ってくれてありがとう(意訳）

同じ本を２冊買ってしまい私は馬鹿だわ-------> It was stupid of me to buy the same books twice.
愚かな、馬鹿な --------> stupid >Foolish >Silly （stupidが一番言い方がきつく、sillyはやさしい言い方。 stupidはほかの人には使わないほうがいい）
彼らのために戦って、君は勇敢だ(この意味では「ありがとう」の意味はない）--------> It was brave of you to fight for them.
将来の関係のために彼女にアイスクリームをあげるなんて、あなたはとても賢いですね-------> It was cleaver of you to give her ice cream for future relationship.
君がグループをやめることを君の旅行の後まで坂本さんに言うのを待ったのは賢明でしたね------> It was wise of you to wait after your trip to tell Mr.Sakamoto that your plan to quit your group.
彼がパーティーから去る時「さよなら」と言わなかったのは変でしたね------> It was strange of him not to say good-by when he left the party.
彼が外へ行ったのは信じられない--------> It was unbelievable of him to go outside.
雨が降りそうもなかったに彼が傘を持っていったのはばかげていました-------> It was silly of him to have umbrella with him even though it didn’t look like rain.
２つ買ったのは利口でしたね（いい買い物をしましたね）-------> It was smart of you to buy two.
私の孫息子の世話をしてくれてあなたはやさしかったですね（孫息子の面倒を見てくれてありがとう）---------> It was so sweet of you to take care of my grandson.
駅に行く方法を教えてくれてありがとう---------> It was thoughtful of you to show me the way to the station. (showは地図などを見ながら道順を教えた時などに使われる）
努力してくれてあなたはいい人でした（努力してくれてありがとう）------> It was so nice of you to make an effort
*it is + 形容詞 + of +人+ to + 動詞 . この表現を使うと様々な形容詞を使い、直接的な表現（Thank you for~）よりも複雑な英語の文を作る練習になる
