私は３年前から化学品を売り買いする商社に勤務している。まあ言ってみれば商社マンであるが、華やかな大手商社マンのイメージとは随分異なる。海外取引が非常に少なく、国内の取引主体の問屋さん的会社である。　経営トップから平社員まで総じてギラギラとしたところがほとんどない実にほんわかーとした会社である。３年間勤めている間に少し力の抜けたようなこの会社がいとおしくなってきた。　その会社が保有する唯一の海外子会社をこのたび私が担当することになった。従業員が５人だけの小さな小さな会社であるが前任者が苦労してやっと昨年から黒字体質に転換している。私が停年を迎えるまでの５年間でこの会社を強く大きくして親会社に貢献できればいいなと思っている。　出世とか金儲けとか使命感とかそんなことではなく、ゲーム感覚で自分の運と力を試してみたい。願わくば任期途中でゲームオーバーになりませんように。　今日から日本に一時帰国する。
