お金の苦労がないという人はいないと思います。今朝、私の品質の一人が退職を申し出てきました。通勤も今より、近く給料もよさそうです。それに別の食べ物を売るスタンドも一緒にやるそうです。在職中も経済的苦労が多かったと言っていました。そう言えば残業の時にはいつも出てきていた記憶があります。お金はいくらあっても十分と言うことは無いにしても、アメリカ人は特別お金の苦労をしているように、私には見受けられます。「ちゃんと貯金をしているのか」と聞いて見たいですが、あまりにも個人的な事ですから、聞かずじまいです。昼も夜も休みも惜しまず、良く働くのですが、その影には何かいろいろ複雑な家庭事情があるようです。親と外で食事をしても、親にお金を払ってもらったことが無いと、聞いて、「だったら凄い財産を残しているよ」と、言ったら、「それも無い」では、何処に言ったのお金は？？親子で外で食事をしても、子供にお金を払わせる親がいるのかなぁ‥‥子供曰く「けちな親」だそうです。
オスカーの授賞式が昨夜、ロスアンジェルスのコダック劇場で行われました。作品賞には”クラッシュ”。話題の大きかったジョージ・クルーニーは助演男優賞を、”キングコング”はサウンド関係を受賞しています。この受賞作品のうち、皆さんはいくつ見られましたか。私はまだ”クラッシュ”を観ていません。早速、今週末にでも出かけたいですね。
