傘を忘れないようにドアの近くへ置いておく方がいい--------> So that you won’t forget your umbrella. You should place it near the door.
【nearby, near, close to, far, far away 近く、遠く】
nearby-------> (いる場所）の近く
彼女は近くに住んでいる---------> She lives nearby.
近くにコンビニはありますか--------> Is there a convenience store nearby.
near ------> ～の近くに
彼女は駅の近くに住んでいる/ 事務所の/彼の家の-------> She lives near the station/ my office/ his house
close to ------> ～の近くに（nearと同じような意味だが、必ずtoを使う）
彼女は駅の近く(そば）に住んでいる--------> She lives close to the station.
彼女は駅のすぐそばに住んでいる--------> She lives close by the station.
far away ------> 遠く離れて
彼女は遠くに住んでいる She lives far away.
far from -------> ～から離れて
彼女は駅から離れたところに住んでいます---------> She lives far from the station.
駅まで乗せてくれてありがとう、でもそこへ行く途中、バファリン（頭痛薬）を買いたいのだけど、駅のそばにドラッグストアがあるか知っている？---------> Thank you for taking me to the station, but I’d like to buy Bufferin on the way there, do you know if there is a drug store near the station?
彼女は80歳代なんですけど、彼女の家の近くにお店がないので、何か買いたいときはアマゾンを使っています----------> She is in her 80’s, but there are no shops (there aren’t any shops) near her house, so when she wants to buy something she has to use Amazon.

*（人）に～を頼む------> ask +人+for+名詞 / （人）に～することを頼む-----> ask+人+to +動詞
出かける前に炊飯器のスイッチを入れたのを覚えていない-------> I don’t remember turning on my rice cooker before leaving.
シャンゼリゼを歩いているとき、バイオリンの音を聞いたのを覚えている--------> I remember hearing the sound of violin when I walked down Champs-Élysées.
私は夫が私に言ったことを何も覚えていない--------> I don’t remember my husband saying anything to me.
夫が今夜の残業について何も言っていないのを覚えていない--------> I don’t remember my husband saying anything about overtime work tonight.
今朝、洗濯機のスイッチを入れたのを覚えているが、洗濯物を乾かすことを覚えていない。家へ帰ったらすぐにそれを乾かさないと。I remember turning on the washing machine this morning, but I don't remember drying the laundry , I have to dry it as soon as I get home.

この辺りを運転したのを覚えているけれど、初めて通るように見える--------> I remember driving in this area but it’s still looks new to me.
妻と近所の店へ買い物したことを覚えている--------> I remember going shopping with my wife at our neighborhood market.
ここに自転車を止めたことを覚えていない。おそらく誰かが動かしたんだ-------> I don’t remember parking my bike here. Someone probably moved it.
4歳の時、事故の後、病院にいたのを覚えている---------> I remember being in the hospital after an accident when I was four.
夫が私に何が起きたか教えてくれるまで、私がお酒を飲んだ後気絶したのを覚えていなかった---------> I didn’t remember fainting after drinking until my husband told me what happened to me.
最後に自転車に乗った時、自転車の事故にあったのを覚えている--------> I remember having a bicycle accident the last time I rode a bike.
例外：rememberの後動名詞にならない形
普通) 初めて自転車に乗ったときのことを覚えていない--------> I don’t remember the first time I rode a bicycle.
可能) 初めて自転車に乗った時のことを覚えていない-------> I don’t remember riding a bike for the first time.

【Have you ever helped someone on the road?】
On the way home from shopping by car, I noticed that an elderly man was lying on the sidewalk. I pulled over and ran to his side. His head was bleeding and he no responded. I called 119 and was waiting for an amblance with him.
(車で買い物から家へ帰る途中、高齢男性が歩道に横たわっているのに気が付きました。私は車を路肩にとめて、彼のそばへ駆け寄りました。彼は頭から出血していて、反応がありませんでした。119番通報をして救急車を待ちました）
