I say "No", when answering the question whether the benefits of free trade do outweigh the disadvantages or not.
And I have three reasons supporting my opinion.
First, we should understand the situation that the rate of food supplied by our own country's has been decreasing.
This means that Japanese country is not able to survive if other countries are willing not to sell food needed by Japanese people.
On the contrary, other developed countries can feed their population over 60 percents rate.
It would be too dangerous situation for this country to open to free trade.
Next, we can not ignore Chinese economic growth, for example.
In fact, we have already tended to buy imported vegetables rather than those made in our own country.
This is because such imported food is cheaper.
If we would allow ourselves to buy more imported food without its tariff, our country's economy would be worsen.
Finally, the medical industry in Japan would be forced to attend the competition with other developed countries by free trade.
This would lead to instability of medical care's prices.
In particular, poor people would be threatened by being unable to receive the treatment properly, because they would be unable to afford it.
In conclusion, I expect that the free trade would not improve our society for these reasons.
