みなさまおはようございます。
Good morning everyone.
現在東京都美術館で開催されている
「おべんとう展」を観に行って来ました。
I visited Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
to see an exhibition about Bento.
実は、キャラ弁を作り始めるまでは
気にもとめていなかったお弁当のことが
自分の中で大切な意味を持つもの
に変わっていました。
Actually I was not so curious about Bento
since I have started Kyaraben.
But then it becomes very important for me.
なので、良いタイミングで訪れることが
出来た展覧会でした。
In this perfect timing I thought
I was really lucky to visit.
日本のお弁当の歴史は、とても古く
平安時代にまでに遡ります。
Japanese Bento's history dates back to
Heian Period （794 〜1185
/ the 9th century to the 12th century)
以下、展覧会のイントロダクションより
一部抜粋します。
Following some phrases are extracted
from the introduction of the exhibition.
お弁当は私達の生活に深く根付いています。
家族をはじめ誰かが誰かのために作るお弁当は
ひとつひとつに人と人をつなぐ物語があり
作る人から食べる人への贈り物とも言えます。
The bento is part of the fabric of our way of life.
Some bentos made for family members or
other loved ones - gifts, as it were,
that each bento contains the story connection
the prepare and the eater.
誰かと一緒に食べるお弁当は、共同体を維持し、
つながりを深めます。
Others are enjoyed with other people ; since antiquity,
the act of eating bento togheher has served
as a social tool that holds the community togher
and strenghens bonds.
お弁当には、味を考えながら食材を
ちょうど良く詰めて行きます。
食べることを巡る、コミュニケーション
デザインでもあるのです。
Paying attention to balance ot tastes
the one prepareing the bento goes about
packing the box with assorted foods.
The bento is, in a sense, a culture
of designing communication
through the medium of food.
お父ちゃんが作ってくれた毎日のお弁当シリーズ
Bento which is made by a Dad to his daughter
(elementary school) everyday.
これがわたしは好きでした。
This was my favorite one.
卵を割ったところ。
When somebody breakes an egg.
そして、お弁当には弁当の精霊が宿っているそうです。
They say that in the bentos lives Sprits of Bento.
誰かと一緒にお弁当を食べる時「お裾分け」をすることが
あるでしょう。
それは一種の愛情の交換とも言えるでしょう。
When we eat bento with others we share some staffs,
it's a kind of exchanging of love.
日本人にとっては、当たり前のお弁当に
こんな長い歴史と伝統があり、日本人の精神に
結びついているということは、この展覧会を訪れる前は
気付いてもいませんでした。
とても感動しました。
For me Bento was quiet usual thing that I have never
known it's history and tradition and related to
Japanese spirit since I visited this exhibition.
I really touched.
