植物全般に興味がある。特に道路や壁のスキマなどで生きている、身近な植物たちからは視線が離せない。しかし、名前を覚えるのが苦手である。

その情報を得るのに本やネットで調べたりするのだが、その得た知識を長く記憶しておくことが難しく何とも悩ましい△

見つけた草花が気になる時に調べると、前にも調べたことがある、と思うことが多い。記憶力の弱さに閉口するが、記憶を定着させるには繰り返しが大事ということをどこかで読んだ。これに励まされている△

小説などは大抵一回しか読まないことが多い。だが資料系の本は何度も手に取る。『スキマの植物の世界』塚谷裕一著は、スキマ草を調べたい時にまず開く本である。

よって自然に何度も目を通していることになる。だが昨日、驚愕の事実が明らかになった(大袈裟である)△

最近見るツマグロヒョウモンという蝶が気になっている。ネットで検索するのが早いのでササっと調べたら、幼虫はスミレやパンジーが好きで、とあった。

既述の本をたまたま手に取ると、最後の方に「コラム　スキマの生態系」というのがあり、そこにツマグロヒョウモンについての記載があった△

少なからず一回は読んでいたはずであるが、初めて読むかのように読み込んだ。こういうのをマヌケのケ、とでも言うか(造語である)△

一度読むだけで名前や種類を覚えられたら無尽蔵に情報量が増え、小さな本でも持ち歩かなくて済む。地球上の生物はとにかく種類が多いのだから。

I love plants, especially when they are living in my neighborhood. I can see them nearly everyday.

But it’s really difficult for me to remember their kinds and names.

I check it out on books when I’d like to know something about them. I check them out a few times about the same plants, sometimes... I mean, I am easy to forget about them, I checked them before...

I’ve got like bibles that I read them sometimes to know/check them out.

In these days, I see many Indian fritillaries , so I checked them out on the internet, I discovered that their babies love violet.

I picked some book then opened it, I found about the butterfly. I’ve read the book before, so, I knew about the butterfly but I completely forgot about that. Oh my.

I know that for our memories, we have to do the same thing again and again, at least a few times.

But there are too many plant on the earth.
