門松を
飾って祝う
お正月

We set a pair of Kadomatsu
At the entrance for
Welcoming the year gods

祝う、と言うよりお迎えする、でしょうね。年神さま、いらっしゃいませ!

We welcome the year gods every new year days. Kadomatsu is like a landmark. The gods can come to our houses without getting lost.
Welcome! We are all happy to see you again.
(Year god(s) = Toshi gami)
It is believed that they come from the mountains to give us happiness for a new year.
