The photos from that day were not just stunning; they were a breathtaking portrayal of a moment frozen in time.
But I soon realized why.
It was a profound moment, as I had revisited my beloved hometown of Yuriage in Miyagi Prefecture for the first time since 2011/3/11, a place I had not set foot in for the two days leading up to that day.
I also visited the place where I grew up.
I visited the splendidly robust three-story reinforced concrete nursing home built on a large site.
It was because my mother lived on the first floor.
Usually, the room on the first floor facing the garden would have been very nice.
However, my mother, who resided on the first floor, was tragically lost when the tsunami struck on March 11th, 2011.
Most of the people on the upper floors were saved, though.
In the wardrobe, my mother's clothes were hanging.
They were her favorite color.
The clothes chest still had my mother's clothes in it.
What surprised me even more was that I visited this place the next day to take photos.
This place was my favorite place at the time.
After being completely cured and discharged from the hospital on December 16th, 2011, I visited this place 300 days out of the year for the next year and took photos almost every day.
So, I visited this place the day after I visited my hometown.
I wanted to put the incredibly beautiful Chopin by Michelangeli, which I had just discovered on YouTube, in the back of my photo collection.
When I was choosing from the photo collections I had created and posted up to that point, the photo from that day appeared.
I immediately decided on this photo collection.
Finally, I also decided to include Horowitz's Brahms No. 3, which I discovered today.
But I soon realized why.
