今年2度目の太平洋横断
ホノルルー横浜太平洋横断レース2日目
僕は、今年、何と2度目の太平洋横断最短記録達成にチャレンジしていて、とてもエキサイティングな毎日を過ごしています。
最初は、ジェロニモのクルーとして、今年の4月に世界記録を達成しました。
ジェロニモの巨大なマルチハルのセーリングボートで、僕はただ一人の日本人セーラーとして、とても貴重な体験を得ることができました。
そして、優秀なフランス人セーラー達から、色々なノウハウを学びました。
今回のビーコムでは、僕も含めて4人の日本人セーラーと、キーウィー（ニュージーランド人）のセーラー仲間達と一緒にセーリングを楽しんでいます。
このような太平洋横断記録達成へ向けての経験や文化を、日本のセーリング界に持ち込むことが、僕の重要な使命の内の一つなんだと考えています。
今のところ、快適な貿易風を受けて、順調にセーリングを続けていますが、日本沿岸へアプローチする最終段階が、記録達成に向けての成功の鍵になるものと考えています。不安定な風を読まなければならないことは勿論ですが、台風の動向にも注意を払わなければならないからです。
個人的には、7月25日には、日本に到着したいなぁと、内心、思っています。
それは、7月26日、僕の誕生日を、家族と一緒に祝いたいからです。

My second trans-Pacific passage this year
Day Two Honolulu-Yokohama
I am really excited about my second Trans-Pacific passage this year; the first was crewing aboard Geronimo when we set the world record in April.
On the giant multi hull boat, Geronimo, I had the great experience of being the only Japanese sailor and I leaned a lot from the excellent French sailors. This time on Beecom, I am enjoying sailing with fellow Kiwi (New Zealander) sailors and 3 other Japanese sailors. I think it is one of my important jobs to take this experience to Japanese sailing world.
Today, we are going well with nice trade wind but our final stage approaching the Japanese coast will be our key to success because of unsteady winds and, of course, we will have to watch for typhoons.
My own wished arrival date in Japan is July 25, so that I can celebrate my birthday on shore with my family on July 26.
